Which as you all know, that means that something bad has happened. However this one has been one that us here at the pockybox have seen coming for a good while now. We regret to inform you that Cyprine has left the team this week. Not because of tensions in the staff or anything like that, but life has just been throwing everything possible in her way for a while now and because of that she has asked that we fill the position with somebody else that can keep up the position better. We are respecting her wishes and are now looking for a new Cyprine. As usual, it will be through an application process. You will be required to answer the questions in the application as well as do a review of the site of our choosing. April 1, 2006: Well it pains me to do this as the pockybox has become a dear part of my life for the past year and a half. However as you have noticed, our reviews have become more erratic, our help desk almost dead, and our drama articles stale... It is with a heavy heart that I have decided that it is time for pockybox to close. The hiatus that we were on really sealed the fate of this site for me in the fact that even during that time I was too busy to care anything about this site. I have tried to find a niche for myself in the world outside of this site and I think I have finally found it. It has been fun guys. My love goes to my loving staff and our loyal patrons who actually fell for this dribble. Enjoy your new reviews and help desk articles that are coming.

March 16, 2006: Alright so I am a day late with this update. I apologize but life has gotten in the way. Everybody please welcome our new Viluy onboard at the forums and look forward to her reviews soon. As far as reviews and articles are going. Look for reviews to go live again on Monday. These will include reviews from our new staff member. Also due to popular vote, look forward to some new things on the forums soon. February 22, 2006: Hello, all... Tellu here! Just announcing that our hiatus will officially be over on March 15. In the meantime, we need a new Viluy!! If you are interested in the position, please contact mimette@mypockybox.com! February 05, 2006: Our apologies for the lack of updates, articles, and reviews. There have been some scheduling issues as well as all of us being tied up with school and life in general. We wiill try to bring the snark to you again soon, so please keep checking back. Also, I have completely disabled guest posting on the forums as we have been hit with more spammers than I care to count. Until further notice, no guest posting will be allowed. January 04, 2006: For our first update of the new year, we have two reviews today! One in the good section, and one in the bad section. December 28, 2005: We apologize for anybody that is having trouble accessing the forum. After some drama caused after our most recent drama article was launched, we have had to resort to banning IP ranges. We are sorry for the inconvenience of this, but it is our only way to keep the troublemakers off of the forums. Maybe someday in the future these ranges can be unblocked, but for now it is our way of keeping the forums themselves drama free. December 21, 2005: Two reviews have been posted today: one in the bland section, and one in the bad section. December 20, 2005: Just in time for Xmas, I present you with the beginning of the Kakyuu_kou drama article. There is more to be posted but this is the start of it. This is by far the largest drama article that we have done to date and I am a bit tired. Please feel free to drop me a line about it if you wish to discuss it. August 17, 2005: Hola, everyone, this is your new and ultra-mysterious Tellu speaking! I'm here to announce that life inside the Pocky Box is pretty hectic for all of us Witches right now, so updates will not be posted until Friday, August 19. We're all terribly sorry, but you can look forward to some great new reviews on Friday! August 8, 2005: It is with a bit of a snarky tongue and a sad heart that we must inform you that you will be seeing no new content from us until next week. Cyprine, Viluy, and myself (Mimette) are all on a bit of a vacation. Viluy is here with me all the way from Scotland, and Cyprine is moving... as such, we haven't worked Tellu into our new schedule yet, nor do we have any idea what is going on right now. Next week, regularly scheduled reviews will resume with the reviews from this week AND next week. That means 4 times the mockery and snark. We are unveiling a new and improved review system to accomodate the fact that some readers wanted to hear our thoughts on more than just our selected areas. Henceforth, we're rotating areas to review so that each week, you'll get to see a different witch review a different part of a site. All the drama articles and reviews have been recoded for a better and more attractive integration into the new layout. A new saga has been added to the Drama section: the Usagi Kou Saga. What's this, poppets? You all hated the old layout? You thought it was ugly and pixellated? Well, celebrate -- for that hated layout is no more! We at the Pocky Box aim to please. We heard your complaints and we acted! This new layout features the Witches 5 bouncing around a giant, yummy pocky box. We hope this layout makes your mouth water... And of course, a new review, breaking the month-long trend of Uglies. This new review is in the Bland. As you may or may not have noticed, there've been some significant changes at the Pocky Box. Well, hold on to your hats, there's more on the way. Expect further improvements over the next couple of weeks! June 22, 2005: A new review in the Ugly today! Also, the reviews section has been updated now so that reviews at the top are the most recent rather than the oldest. June 1, 2005:Review in the Ugly today. We have added categories defintions to each category that now explain each category. It seemed a common trend that those sites placed in the Bland couldn't understand why they weren't in the good, but this should be cleared up now. Also, our FAQ has been updated. Please read that. And our new contest launched today. I haven't had time to take pictures of the prizes yet, but I will try to get that taken care of tonight. Last month's winner was a first time submission by Deruchie. Congratulations, look for your Umi plushie in the mail. This month's contest is a bit different, so please read the rules. And as always thank you to everybody for your support. May 25, 2005:Review in the Bland today. We are shortly going to be adding a little something to each category. There seems to be some people that seem to think that having their site put in one category or the other is a bad thing. In some cases, it is, but in others it isn't. So we will soon be putting definitions for each category so there can be no dispute as to how it is interpreted. It was put there because that is where we felt it belonged via dictionary definition. Please people. Understand that these are only our opinions and should be taken as such. May 18, 2005: Hey everybody! Cyprine here with a new review for this week, in the Ugly. Though one of us had great things to say about this site, overall the rest of us agreed that it was the look of the site (or rather lack of one) that did this site in, so unfortunately, the site found its way into the Ugly column. So go check out the review! May 10, 2005: WE ARE BACK! That is right. The Pocky Box returns and as you can see by the new layout, we have changed format. There was a LOT of bad blood that was spilled between the Outers while we represented them and we have returned reborn a the witches that everybody (who gets negative reviews) seems to think we are. I would like to thank Cyprine for the layout as it is hers and was made for this site. She does lovely work doesn't she? There is also a review in today! It is in the ugly column. We ALL hope that you enjoy that review. However, you should note that review format has changed. Instead of doing four individual reviews that can be repetitive and boring, we all now review a specific part of the site. Also, the Junketsu Saga has been moved to the Drama column where it bleongs. Last but not least, we have a forum again! This time it is hosted by us, meaning that no matter how badly things might go with friends or what not, unless I can't afford to pay the bill for the site, the forums are NOT going anywhere. So get over there, sign up again, choose a Pocky Flavor for your theme, and get chatting! We will see you again next week with another review. |
