Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Ok I am greeted with a splash page that leaves a bit to be desired. the image is two off centered images... I think... not sure cause it doesn't really look right. And then there is the text that is overlaying the bottom of the image and running off of it. Not sure what this person was going for here... There is also a banner up top that is for a webring..... ok....

Entering has brought me to hell.... ok well very near hell. there are three boxes here. That is the only way I can describe them. There is the one on the left that is this horrible macaroni vomit color with "Affies".

In the middle there is the main iframe that has a pink border on top and a teal colored border on the bottom. Yuck! Then the middle portion is a dark bluish green color with pink dotted borders and the vomit colored headings and links.....

the third box is on the right and it is that ugly teal color with a badly filtered image of what looks to be Usagi by the hairstyle..... Oh and above it a drop down box that says "Explore My World".... do I have to?

All of this is on a blue background with the vomit color used again for the title of the page that is cut off by the main box border. EVERYTHING on this page has damn dots around it! Its driving me insane....

The only good thing I can say about this site is that it is fairly consistant. The most annoying thing about this site is that the navigation is among the worst that I have ever seen. Back buttons are absolutely NOWHERE and I am laying heavily on my browsers option to back up.... this doesn't make for clean navigation. That drop down box might seem great to you but it makes for lousy navigations with your subcategories.....

This layout gets a resounding FAIL from me.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

I got media this week on this site. Doesn't look like there's much here.

Off to the goodies section I go. For some reason, the owner chose to zip the files up without any thumbnails, so you don't really know what exactly it is that you're downloading. What's even weirder, is that I downloaded the ChibiMoon wallpapers... and there weren't any in the .zip. I'm kinda confused here.

The icons and wallpapers here are not exactly impressive. Futhermore, the phrasing of the icons blurb makes it seem as though the owner hasn't made any of them and is just reposting. I hope she has permission.

The gallery is neatly thumbnailed and laid out, but there is no distiction between fanart and scans/anime screencaps. Some of these are obviously not official art, but no one is creditted for them.

On to the manga scans. These are at least creditted, and they're all from another site that we thought was ugly. The scans are decent quality, but the typesetting could use a lot of work. However, that's not the webmistresses fault.

The media wouldn't be half bad if the owner would work on creditting things (credit yourself if you have to.)

Ok so I got media this week...there's lots to choose from, music, pictures, KiSS Dolls, Quizes, Episodes, etc. Every link I tried works, however I didn't go so far as to downloading anything to my harddrive, I got enough junk on here as it is! LOL

Some of the pictures are ok...their mostly avatars, signature boxes that's it. There not great, but their ok. Episodes, you only get one episode to choose from, that really should be fixed. Maybe instead of Episodes it could read, Episode? At least till more are added anyways, otherwise that can be a bit misleading. The music files and SNES games are also available for download, even tips on how to run them are listed, meaning what programs you may or may not need.

Other than that, the media is ok really. I'm not impressed with the fact that they all open up in that little window on the layout, especially the forums. That's just...ridiculous and it makes it hard to see. I don't like scrolling all over the place to read stuff!

Aside from that, the media section is ok. I think it could be a bit better, but overall it's not to bad really. The nice thing is, you have a varity of stuff to choose from to do and that at least makes it worth the time to check it out!
