Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Cyprine

There is no splash page or "best viewed" info on Shadowed Galaxy, but I suspect it isn't necessary at all because it opened quickly and cleanly in Firefox, Opera, Safari and IE7 in everything 800x600 and up. Bonus points because its CSS-based with an external style-sheet. From a technical standpoint, I'm quite impressed.

That said, the layout isn't really anything to write home about in the visual interest department. While it's clean and consistent, there isn't much oomph to it and the header images could use a processing.

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

I have gone through the entire section of subsections for "Just who is Galaxia" on this site and I have to say that it is nice to see it all laid out so well. There are the typical small spelling and grammar issues, but nothing that isn't understandable. We all have small mistakes here and there and as such, I am still praising this section as it is well done.

Unfortunately, the first subsection of "Story" is not as nice as the first whole section. The "anime" story of Galaxia seems a bit rushed and watered down. I am also sad to see that this section lacks the "heartfelt passion" (cheesy I know, get over it) that the first section did. It is TOO watered down....

Unfortunately a lot of the manga section reads like a rewrite of the Oracle's article on Galaxia..... this has me a bit disappointed and once again feeling let down.

The Myu section felt VERY bland. Whereas two of the musical themes with Galaxia in them is covered, three of them hardly have a few sentences about them and a couple of those aren't even correct. Sadly these last three musicals are easily downloadable online now and as such, I would think that they would be better covered than the older ones, but I guess I am wrong.

I can state very well though that the "whats in a name" section is a MUCH better section after being so disappointed. The other subsections in this main category are all very nice after being so disappointed before. Thank you for picking up the slack ^_^

The rest of the sections are fairly well done, except the Artbook section. It is hard to explain about a costume without a picture to point it out. I have tiny thumbnails here that don't do much for explaining it to me. Sorry but this section is a strong FAIL!

There is one thing that I would like to state right now. There is one bit of information that keeps being repeated on this site relating to the Myu that is not correct. And it is as follows:

"Starlights ~ Ryuusei Densetsu + Kakyuu Ouhi Kourin - The Second Stage Final"

This is not correct. This was not the music that concluded the Second Stage. There are two stages to Sera Myu, first stage ended with Anza's last performance and Second stage ended with Marina's last of Shin Kaguya. I would really LOVE to see this corrected.

This site is alright as far as written content but it needs some work. There are some sections that are so bland that my mouth went dry....

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

I am totally impressed by the multimedia section of this website! Wow! There are hundreds of images here, organized by continuum and by poses, among other things. The screencaps are great quality, and so are the manga scans. The scans from the Mixx manga are kind of small, but they weren't even scanned by the owner of the site, and there are tons of bigger scans from the Japanese manga, so I'm not going to hold that against the site. This page also includes several rare images of doujinshi and children's books. Well, the list of inclusions just goes on and on... it's fantastic! If you're looking for a Galaxia picture, this is where you want to be. I also noticed that all images are credited very well! One of the images in the doujinshi section is actually from a mailing list called Manga Kisses that I ended at LEAST five years ago; I can't believe this person is actually still crediting. Now that's what I call a dedication to credit!

The "Media" sectin is a tiny bit less impressive, but great nonetheless. The video section only has one video in it, so I definitely want to see more here in the future!! The MP3s page is more substantial, and has lots of different MP3s for you to choose from. I notice that the MP3s are in MP3 format on the actual site. It might be best to put those in .ZIP format to prevent people from streaming them (using huge amounts of bandwidth). That's just a tiny suggestion to the webmaster, in case she wants to conserve bandwidth, but I definitely don't see it as negative in any way that the webmaster chose to use MP3 format for downloads.

That's pretty much it for the multimedia section, but I've gotta say I'm impressed by everything! Great work... this is easily one of the best shrines I've ever seen!
