Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Viluy

I really like the main page of Serapii-Kisu. It's not hard on the eyes (although it's not a colour I would choose *grins*) and the graphic is nice and clear. The navigation is easy to find and is described so you know what you are getting when you go to a particular part of the site.

Deconstructed

The site changes from a purple/pink to silvery gray colour, with images of Sailor Moon/Princess Serenity's accessories as the header graphics. The background appears to be white lace. The manga pictures are a bit hard to see in front of the lace background - maybe having the lace a little bit less visible would make that easier to see. I didn't catch it the first time, what they were meant to be, you see.

Every subsection within this part of the site is in the same silver/gray colour, which appears to denote that it is in this section, not another. A nice touch.

Essence

A golden yellow coloured image and background this time. It's a bit bright after the soothing silver of Deconstructed, but it fits with the idea that this is the essence of who/what Serenity/Sailor Moon is. The same subsection demarkation is found here, as it was in the Deconstructed section.

Fanlisting

This is the cool part of the site - the fanlisting is skinned so you can choose the colour/layout scheme of the fanlisting. I personally like the red Sera Myu version. *grins* One thing though - if you're going to have it as part of Serapii-Kisu, please include a 'back' button of some sort so that we can get back a lot easier than having to use the browser's back button. *is lazy* I know it has Serapii-Kisu linked at the bottom, but I don't know many people who actually go that far down or who look at them.

Ginzuishou

I really love this part of the site, but then again, I'm partial to diamons *grins* as it's my particular birthstone. I like the diamond prism effect behind the manga image of the crystal in the header image.

Basically, every single part of the site has its own layout that is particular to what the topic subsection is about and I like that. It gives the site its own style, yet is also in keeping with the main site, in that only the colours and the heading graphics are changed, not the actual look of the site as a whole.

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Cyprine

This site is incredible. As far as shrines go, though Serapii-Kisu is new to the BSSM fan world, it's one of the better character shrines out there. It's hard to fit a lot of the site into "Visual" vs. "Written" content because the webmaster uses a lot of unique ideas to present otherwise known information.

Deconstructed is a section where the webmaster examines the many fukus and every day outfits that Usagi wears. Even though we all know what these outfits look like, the webmaster manages to make this section nonetheless interesting.

The essence section contains a lot of great little sections that examine various aspects of Usagi's personality. Again, very unique presentations of the same old material

I really love that this site includes a section on the ghinzuishou. You would think m ore sites would talk about this extremely important talisman, and yet very few do. It's nice that this site takes the time to talk about the symbolism and appearances of the ghinzuishou.

My favourite part of the site is actually the "Letters Never Sent" portion, which contains fictional letters written from Usagi's perspective and sent throughout the Stars season to Mamoru. This is a great idea that gives depth to Usagi's personality during a season that deals less with her development as a character and more in developing the Starlights as new players in the BSSM universe.

Overall, this site is incredible, accurate, and well-deserving of a place on any BSSM link list. If there is any criticism for this site (and I've got to search for one) it's that there should be more completed sections.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Alrightty, on first glance, this looks like a good site. Now, i shall do my little invesigation to see how good it is. teehehe. General media, here I come!

Ok, deconstructed. Let me say, this section is literally a cosplayer's heaven for Usagi costumes. The pictures used show every aspect of her costume, including the small details, which can be very critical to a cosplayer. Being that I am one, I would find this part very helpful if I was female and wanted to cosplay Usagi.

So far, I have seen that alot of the pictures of thumbnails. This is fine, but I would like to point out that they are actually well placed and ordered. These are not clickable, so they cannot be enlarged. However, the thumbnails in the image gallery are.

Every single picture/icon/thumbnail works on this site. Judging from the good placing and other such things, good use of hspace and vspace, shows that the creator of this website knows what they are doing. Its relief to see a shooting star once and a while.

I wish there was more to this site to review, but I lot of it is still under construction. This may hurt its grade with the other review sections, but in regards to media, it passes.

Overall

How does the site flow, overall? What are the wholistic impressions the viewer gets from the site?

I. love. this. site! I have always liked this site a lot, so this will be an easy review for me!

One thing that's always weirded me out a bit about this site is that sometimes when I open in in IE, a part at the top in some sections retains the pink backgound where it shouldn't. It appears and disappears as I move my mouse over it and highlight it, right behind the top portion of the text. I'm not talking about the part at the top that is supposed to be pink, but a different part. It's strange and hard to explain, but it only happens in IE - not in FireFox.

Ok, now that that's out of the way, I can praise this site more. :) I love all of the different sections, and the fact that the main page tells you what to expect in each one. There is so much that's incomplete, though... and I'm not a big fan of advertising what you don't have. A "coming soon" section might be appropriate, but I'm not much for placing text where a link will be in the future. In my mind, it only seems to show people how much you DON'T have, rather than how much you DO have.

I love all the unique things about this site... the Ginzuishou page, the enormous 'deconstructed' section, and Usagi's "108 secrets" (not new to the world, but new to Sailor Moon sites)! The thing I love MOST about this site is the fact that she credits EVERYTHING she uses. So many people fail to do that. I applaud you!
