Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Ptilol

The site opens up to the main page. There's no splash page, but the requirements are stated at the bottom. It works with the major browsers, so there should be any issues for anyone who wants to check it out. Moving on...

The images are all from the manga and are properly credited as well. There is a border of dark grey surrounding the white content area. Personally, I think it's so close to black-but-not it looks bad. Almost like that "I washed my favorite black shirt so many times it's now faded" look. The title of the page is in the same color and in a script-like font, but it's easy to read.

The navigation is simple. It's all down the left side. The sections in bold are clickable while the ones that aren't appear to still be under construction and are not able to be clicked. I appreciate that difference between them. It's really annoying to click something and have it take you to an empty page.

The layout stays the same for each section except the shrine to "Tsukino Usagi". It opens in a new window. The background has a white border around the black content area. The text is white, so it's readable. The image, however, looks awful. It's a sihouette of Sailor Moon sitting(?) and holding her Moon Stick. Staring at it (wanting to tear my eyes out) I realize that it's the one where she's sitting on a cresent moon, except the moon part has been removed. It just looks really odd done in white. This one would have been better if it was left in color. I could go on, but I think it's enough to just stop there.

Overall, the main layout is nice to look at and easy to navigate. I'll give you a C+ for it because the Shrine layout killed it.

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Tellu

How many times can I say this? I really hate sites that put the site info FIRST on the navigation menu. It drives me crazy... how narcissistic can you get? It's like saying your number one priority is the fact that you made the site, not the actual content. Man, it makes me madder and madder every time I see it. Ok, now that I'm done ranting, I'll review the info! :D

*snore* Statistics in the character profiles. Wake me up when this is over...

The mythology and planetary sections aren't even halfway completed, which is kind of sad because in my opinion, this information is secondary. You really should work on information about the SERIES first, and then move on to other things like this. There isn't really much series information, and the info in these section is incomplete. Although the site doesn't say this, the info in the mythology section (and probably planety section, I didn't check) is COPIED-AND-PASTED directly from other websites. Way to go, lazybones. What's wrong with having original content? Why not research it yourself, and write something unique. Instead, you copied and pasted. And you didn't even say you copied and pasted!! Ever heard of plagiarism? It's kind of a big no-no.

Although it's a separate page, I did head over to the Usagi shrine to check that out. It was pretty boring, but nowhere near is bad as the main site. More copied information, some written stuff, statistics (again). Same-old, same-old, nothing stands out.

Oh well, at least there aren't many typos...

... but then again, maybe that's just because there's so much copied-and-pasted info...

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Viluy

Ok where to begin? Well let's start in the Image Galleries...

You get an active choice of Manga or Anime. The other three choices aren't even active. (Come on people! How many times do I have to say this...if your not going to make those links active right away, than don't list them!) Anyways...so you can choose from one or the other...let's check out the Manga.

The Manga Section -
The first place you go is a new section. This looks like one of those boards where you can host images in a nice, neat, organized manor. Though I hate sites that take you places like this, it's starting to grow on me. You know why? Cause everything is so neatly organized! (Yes I am an organized freak. lol) All the images here are manga, with one exception that I've been able to find as of now. That would be one anime picture of Setsuna. I recommend fixing that if possible. Other than that, everything is neatly laid out by characters, group sections and random images.

The next section is Anime -
Again you are taken to the same set up as the Manga. Nicely organized and neatly laid out. Everything is broken down by character. There is also a group section of pictures and random sections as well. Again I have to say, nicely done! Props on the organization!

The next section to check out would be the Avatars! Clicking on this link takes you to another page where you can, once again, get your choice of what you want! You choices include Manga, Anime and Live Action.

Manga-
The Manga section breaks everything down by character. All the avatars are nicely done, the eyes are mostly colored and it makes them look very pretty. However the only downfall here is the Usagi section. There are some broken picture images. Nothing there, I suggest that gets fixed.

The Anime section -
Has some nice avatars, all the images work very nicely. It's not a very big section, so there isn't much I can say about this one.

The Live Action Section -
Ummm...nothing here to review. The links either are misdirected or the image links are broken. I recommend fixing this area.

The game section offers a few games. The links are provided to for the programs and games that you need to download. Though one link isn't working, the rest of them work nicely. There's even a site you can go to for information.

The wallpaper section offers a nicely laid out area for wallpapers. Great previews, buuuutt... you can't download any of them. None of the links work, so downloading them proves to be a kind of problem.

All in all, the site's media is ok. It has a lot of great things about it in regards to the galleries, however it's down falls are the broken links and images. That tends to bring it down all together. My suggestion is that these issues get fixed, till then this sites media is ok.
