Layout & Design Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing? |
PtilolFirst off, I'm confronted by a splash page filled with lots of buttons for fanlistiings, and "sister sites." Someplace in the mess is the "enter button" *clicks it* I'm confronted by a tiled background of Sailor Cosmos with the actual content in a box on top of it. It's off center and looks kinda odd. The title is a little hard to read because of the font type but if you look on the title bar of IE you can tell what it says. The navigation bar is set up simply but the size makes some of the letters run together funny. Other than that, the layout is better than some I've seen. The creator actually took the effort to put together something like this instead of just slapping some images and text up and calling it a site. |

Written Content Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content? |
Eudialsounds good. lol. I have no idea what that means, but i'll take two of them. lol. Alright, so ur ever so popular Eudial is in charge of the written content for this site so lets see what I can find. ^.^ To my fave part, information! Im gonna read through this and correct things as I progress through it. The person is summing things up well, but they say Tuxedo Kamen is killed by the dark kingdom. That is incorrect, he gets brainwashed by the Dark Kingdom and becomes all Evil Endy. While I feel ur trying not to give certain things away, which is good, there are points where you should go into less detail. For example: the story of Serenity and Endymion. Alright, character information: Majority of the senshi arent done yet. >.< Arghness. What is also incomplete is the Villians section, it seems that the creator only included the enemies from the Stars season. /sigh. On a quick note, there are no thumbnails of the characters in this section. Sailor Moon has a lot of characters over the five seasons, and its wise to include a picture so the viewer can link the name with the face. The Character-Specific Manga Art Summary is, quite simply, a small detail on how the character made their appearance is certain episodes. The Senshi are not done for this section either, however, I'd imagine that detailing their appearances in 200 episodes would be just insane. The FAQs section is a Q & A of certain questions regarding to the different sections that the creator divided up. Nothing too special here. Interactive...a bunch of games...pretty much. On a side note, if I see another YKYLSCTMW section, im gonna shoot someone with my Flame Buster gun. Ok, i think im done here. Not bad with written content. A lot better then most I've seen. |

Visual Content What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally? |
ViluyImages: One thing you need to remember is to vet your images for quality. Many of these images, whether scanned/capped by the webmaster/mistress or not, are not good quality images and therefore useless, in this reviewer's opinion. The organisation is good, the credits are nice, although perhaps best kept for the credits page. That being said, lot of the black and white manga images are very nicely done. Multimedia: There are a lot of things here, from Sailor Stars episode downloads, to music and sounds. There are also movie clips from various Sailor Stars episodes, together with vague summaries. I am not very keen on the wallpapers, but as a graphics maker myself, I have high standards that I expect people to have before putting their works up for public usage. These amateur attempts don't rate a second look from me. *clicks away* Interactive: There are a lot of things to see and do on this website, most of it taken (and/or adapted) from other sites (and credited, of course). There's nothing wrong with that, but as I mentioned before, perhaps the credits should be best kept for the credits page, as having them with the actual content makes people think you've taken it without permission. If your permissions state that you need credits on every page of the content, then it should be stated in the credits page. The fanfiction and poetry are interesting, although not to my taste. The Sailor Cosmos Sims is hysterical, and the one thing I WOULD come to see on this site. The quizzes are very well done, not easy to pass at all (as I found out *chuckles*) and that's a welcome change from all the amateur and childish quizzes of many other sites. The games...well, they're just like the quizzes, not as easy as they appear. 22 clicks later and I found Chibi Chibi's sweets. *chuckles* The coin flipper is kind of cool too. Beware, the maze game is hard. To summarise, there's a lot of good stuff on this site, but there could be some improvements. I am glad that everything is credited and that there appears to be a lot of work done by the webmistress to make her site out of the ordinary and different from others and I think she's succeeded in part. However good your site is, there's always room for improvement and I feel that the images are what needs to be worked on here. Better quality colour images, as well as perhaps more images (in total), if there are any. The subject being Sailor Cosmos, that may be a stretch, but perhaps fanart might be something to add... |

Overall How does the site flow, overall? What are the wholistic impressions the viewer gets from the site? |
CyprineFirst of all, this splash page image is terrible. I put my nose two inches from the screen, strained my tired eyes and stared at the image, and I still cannot read it. This is a baaaad sign. I'm not in love with this site design... there's just a lot of solid colours, an ugly blue I've never been fond of and a couple of other eye-straining colours. Most notably, the mouseover for the navigation images is that ugly, ugly fluorescent green that we should only see when peopel are making transparent .gifs. Was this site built in Microsoft Paint? The information section seems pretty detailed, but the font is so damn tiny, it's hard to concentrate on. There are no images to break up the monotony of that teeny tiny font on that terrible, terrible blue. Alright, this site does get mad bonus points for its galleries, which are not only well-credited but are thumbnailed (unfortunately, cropped thumbnails) that load into new windows. Moreover, the gallery is very thorough for being focused on such an obscure character. The multimedia section, also, is very nice, with a few episodes on rotation, several video clips and audio clips for download. The Interative section cracks me up, and there's plenty to do there, which would probably make it the most interesting to me. I'm totally disturbed that this person actually learned how to do Sailor Moon's introduction moves. Overall, this site is jam-packed with content, some of it good, some of it kind of boring to read (mainly profiles, etc...). The only downside is that the site is kind of boring to look at and could use some more images and a bigger font. |
