Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Tellu

Only one word came to mind when I first saw this layout: boring. Pretty much the whole thing is white, with the exception of a tiny black and white manga image. Bizarrely, although this is a Rini shrine, the image isn't even of Rini! Well, at least I can say that the navigation on this site is very organized. I think there could be a little more space between the navigation bar and the actual content (it's looking a little squished), but at least it's organized.

The biggest way for this layout to improve would be to add some color! It doesn't get much more bland than this. A nice title image would really do wonders, in addition to a background image. Just something simple, like the oh-so-popular diagonal stripes or polka dots... ANYTHING to give this site some kind of background! The design here is just so boring and uninspired. It almost makes it seem like the webmaster was too lazy to create something (anything at all!). That may not be the case, but I think it's how a lot of visitors might feel. If the layout is so bland, why would I believe the content to be great?

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Ptilol

There's not really much here as far as the layout goes.

The page is mostly white (with that annoying geocities thinger on the side) with a small black and white image of ChibiUsa. The text is really small and in black. The layout remains constant on each page.

While simple is usually the best way to go, this is a bit too simply done.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Viluy

Media this week is pretty easy. There really isn't much here honestly, but I'll still go over it anyways! :) Oh yeah, just a side note...it's called Rini's Playroom, but I prefer to use Chibi Usa...so bare with me!

Ok so the first place to start is the Interactive Section. Once there you get your choice of a few things. The colored images is a very small gallery, with each image thumbnailed down and linked to the full size image. These images are manga pics that have Chibi Usa (Rini) in them. The same goes for the B/W Images, these are the black and white manga images of Chibi Usa. The next one down the list is Anime Images, however that link isn't active.

Further down we see the the Royal Library, this appears to be a place for fan fictions. Once you click on that, you'll see one fan fiction and a link to what appears to be a seperate site holding more fan fiction. However this site seems to be a spinoff of Rini's Playroom, holding built for a certain fan fiction. This site lists Rini's Playroom as an Affiliate only. So lets move on shall we?

The next section is Bunny's Tic Tac Toe, here you play as Chibi Usa (Rini). This game is set up so you are playing against Usagi. The game uses manga pictures for each block. The one thing I don't like about this, is that as I was playing your choices of which block to pick is limited. Meaning, when I tried to choose one block, I got this annoying pop up saying that is where Usagi was going to go next. Isn't the idea of tic tac toe supposed to be that you get to choose? *scratches head* Other than that this isn't that big of a deal, I've seen plenty of these games around on other sites.

All in all, the interactive section really isn't much to talk about. It's small, very small and well...there just isn't hardly anything there. So all in all, it's ok, but could be better.
