Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Viluy

Oh boy layout time! Ok sooo...what to say about the layout...hmm...well first off it's very...very...pink. The layout itself isn't all that grand; it's got a pink heart background with what looks like a Live Journal column style area off the left that holds all the information. There's a cropped manga picture of Cere Cere at the top, which really doesn't look to great. Honestly if your going to use a picture like that, try not to crop it, but try to do something more to it, so your not looking at half of everyone else within that picture. It looks kind of...bad. I like the font and the style of the site name, though. However I'm not too fond of the colors. The navigation seems pretty easy to work, I like where it lies really. It looks good under the site's title. I think that the layout really could be worked on more. Not have everything off to one side, perhaps center it on the page. Seriously, you got all that space...USE IT! Don't waste it! Then there's the background image...I really don't like the way it's set on there. It does look like someone just kind of...threw it on there. The colors are a bit much all that pink and then...what is that? Green or yellow? I can't tell, anyways it just looks really bad.

And since I seem to be doing things backwards, let's hit up the splash image next, shall we? It's cute, simple and has a bit of an elegant feel to it. Though, there is no mention of resolution or browser compatibility. That is so helpful to people to know. I think that's the only down fall on the splash page...actually I like the splash image a lot...but the site doesn't do that image justice at all. If you’re going to put that much effort into a site, seriously give the layout some attention. Because my friends, that is what can make or break it sometimes!

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Tellu

I always like doing the written sections of sites, because that's what I'm most interested in! This shrine is based on a small character, so there's not a LOT of information that can be put here... but I'd rather have quality over quantity anyway.

... And the quality isn't so spectacular. I mean, there's some great stuff here... information about Lemures, information about her powers (although I'm baffled as to why the powers section is called "Garden"). But there's also some pretty lame stuff, like the name analysis from Kabalarians.com. Because I'm SURE Naoko consulted that site before naming her characters *rolls eyes*

Other than that, I only object to a few things. There's fact that this person says "Amazon Quartet" instead of Amazones Quartetto, and "Asteroid Senshi" instead of Sailor Quartetto. And of course the fact that this person doesn't know whether the Dead Moon Circus appeared during a solar or lunar eclipse (for the record, it was a solar eclipse).

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Cyprine

This is an exceptionally good site, and to a character who unfortunately doesn't get much notice. Petals is a shrine to Cerecere, and it contains a little of the great stuff one would expect from a shrine.

There are only a few critiques I have for the site, which, if addressed, would bump my vote for this site from Bland to Good.

First of all, the gallery is extremely complete, containing episode captures and scans from the anime and manga. However, they are not thumbnailed, and nor are the picture descriptions informative (the text links use the filenames, rather than any sort of description of what the picture includes). It would be infinitely better to thumbnail this gallery.

The wallpaper section is under construction, which is a serious downside considering it's hard to find a good Amazones Quartetto wallpaper, let alone a good Cerecere wallpaper.

The media section also contains a guestmap, a free links widget that didn't load for me and a message board -- all standard freebie web add-on fares.

Ultimately, this site needs more and more unique media to truly make it stand above the admittedly small crowd of Quartetto shrines.
