Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Oh my- that's pink. That's pink and blurry and pixelated. In the upper left corner it reads "Usagi sweet Cake". I miss-read that and thought dirty things. This site makes me dirty.

Anyway, the header image is cut off rather bluntly, completely interfering with the flow of the site.

When I click on a link, it takes me to the section, and it looks almost uniform, save for the fact that the dark borders have vanished. Thus, everything just sort of...leaks together and mucks up the feel of the site even more.

I should say something constructive I suppose. The font is dark enough so that it contrast very clearly from the pink, and everything is well organized.

Moving on. . .

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

To start my complaints with the written portion of this site, I'd like to point out to every webmaster that putting a space between paragraphs greatly improves the legibility of your site. The blocks of text here would have greatly benefitted from this treatment.

I hate to nitpick, but the sentence and paragraph structure on most of the site leave a lot to be desired as well. Non-related information is just crammed together randomly within a paragraph. It makes reading it confusing at times.

If you are looking at this site for a comprehensive description of the Sailor Moon plot, leave now. The Sailor Moon Story section is written up as bad fanfiction. With the transcripts or episodes available everywhere on the net, I don't know why the site owner decided to use their own made-up dialogue. To add insult to injury, there are no paragraph breaks between different characters' dialogue.

The Naoko section reads like a 3rd grade book report. It's dry and random information is thrown together within a paragraph. For example: "In January of 1996, she married Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of the popular manga series Yu Yu Hakusho. Ms. Takeuchi is not only a wonderful artist, but a kind soul as well. After the Kobe earthquake, she helped to raise funds for the victims by drawing caricatures of people and using them as models for small parts in her comic books." What does getting married have to do with an earthquake?

The profiles are a bizarre mix of the standard stats, dubious pieces of trivia and the site owner's thoughts. The Rini profile is a good example of why this combination fails miserably. I also enjoyed the "Crushes or Soul Mate?" page which has all its big paragraphs of text in a teeny-tiny 100px width table cell.

While this site tries hard, the written content is not worth reading.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

I am glad to be reviewing media in Viluy's place this week. This site's layout looks as if somebody hosed it with Pepto Bismal..... and then sprinkled vomit chunks on it. SO glad I am not reviewing layout. Lemme dig for some media so that I can make this quick and get outta here.

Wow.... that kinda killed my review before it ever really started. Working my way through the image galleries to check the quality as well as links, I got to Tuxedo Mask and then the bandwidth exceeded. This is a good note kiddies that Geoshities is called what it is because it is just that... shit. There are a multitude of free hosts on the interweb and why people still go to Geocities is beyond me. (Here at the Pockybox we will soon be offering a list of free internet hosts at the Help Desk, please check it out!)

Well considering I won't be able to review much else on this site now I will have to chalk it up and say that the galleries were unimpressive.... because they were. Bad quality images abound as did quite a few broken links. Seek your media elsewhere.
