Layout & Design Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing? |
Viluy
Wow, well layout is easy this week. There really isn't much to say, about this site's layout. It's on a light blue background for the page. The main part of the layout looks like it's setup in pretty much a table. Dark blue for the navigations areas and white for the main content of the site. The titles for each section on the navigation is in white, where as the links themselves seem to be white for nonvisited links and then a kind of blueish purple for the visited links. There is a small image of Fish Eye and Tigers Eye at the top left corner. Which gets me, because this site is supposed to be about Fish Eye right? So why not have just an image of Fish Eye or at least a better picture that show more of the character in it?

Written Content Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content? |
Tellu
So I'm doing written content this time... my favorite! This shouldn't be too tough for this site, though, considering that
it's known for the great information found here!

Visual Content What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally? |

So...media. At least the site navigation clearly labels what sections it considers multimedia. This site makes the claim that it has "the largest, most original collection of Fisheye images in one place." I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on that, but I can honestly say it is not the best planned or best quality collection. I'm not sure who this Sailor Vegeta person is, but when someone sends you pictures like that, sometimes it's best to say thank you and just "forget" to put them on your site. There's also the problem of no thumbnail images. Some of the links contain a description of what the image is, but some don't. Is it honestly THAT much work to make thumbnails of your images? Some programs will even do it for you. Clicking through the different galleries I find that not only are all the "live" images from another site, but they have to be some of the crappiest screencaptures I have ever seen. Quality not quantity. What good is having a large gallery if most of your images aren't worth looking at? The videos are crappy quality .avi of itty-bitty episode clips. Not really all that exciting, especially now that the episodes are available elsewhere. And hopping out of the "Multimedia" navigation header and into the "Creativity" section I find FanArt, which I have to admit is pretty good. Well...at least most of it. I do have to wonder about the one where he's wetting the bed. And why are there artists here that don't have any Fisheye fanart? Again, why needlessly expand your gallery with things that aren't good quality or don't fit the theme of your site? I can't say I'm impressed at all with the multimedia. There's just too much crap padding the few good bits. |
