Layout & Design Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing? |

I've got layout this time folks. Let's see what we've got.

Written Content Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content? |
CyprineDouble Cyprine this time, yay you. First, a word of advice, don't put something like this on the front page of your website - "It is only fitting that our final layout is organized, easy on the eyes, and... pretty." Why? One, it's a little narcissistic and two, it makes any failures on your part look even worse. The images and color choice for this layout are lackluster. The header image is rather boring, and the empty word balloons are a little strange. The colors, while not bad, are very boring. The layout would definitely benefit from some brighter accent colors. Not that I'm advocating flaming pink text on neon green for this site, but a splash of a more eye-catching color helps draw the eye to important page elements when used correctly. Hint: Used correctly = in moderation. I'll leave the tiny font alone since I whined about it below in the Written department. Instead I'm going to complain about the lack of contrast in the menu. White on light beige was not a good choice, but I will say that at least the links are clearly labeled and they all work. Overall, bland is a very appropriate word for this layout. |

CyprineFirst off, 7.5pt font, wtf? And IE users can't resize it because it's not em. This does NOT make for easy reading of the written portion of the site. So anyway, I'll start off with the statistics pages. Nothing really exciting here, except the occasional inclusion of dub or translation information without designating it as such (for example Usagi's nickname is listed as "Bunny" and her school as "Crossroads Junior High") and there's the occasional spot of fanon. The in-depth section... well, isn't. It's just a small (one paragraph) description of all of Usagi and Minako's various forms. I can't say I'm really all that impressed with this section after the title they gave it. This is supposed to be a shrine to two characters, not a general information site, so I would expect the owners to lavish a bit more attention on the characters in question. The guardian sections are information about Luna and Artemis. The fuku section is actually more in-depth. It explains the differences between the original designs for the costumes and the final ones. I wish the illustrative images on the side weren't so tiny, but at least we're given the entire image to look at after the discussion. I can't help but wonder why the information on the girls is so bland. When I see a character shrine, I expect to see lots and lots of information on the character in question, but there's not much in-depth info here. This site (which is not being updated) would benefit from some actual analysis of Usagi and Minako rather than parrotting the same info which is available on so many other sites. |

Visual Content What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally? |
Viluy
Media this week seems like an easy task really. The only thing that I could find in the way of Media was the Gallery section of the site! This section is broken down into three subsections: Civilian, Soldier and Princess. All the pictures are of Minako/Venus and Usagi/Moon.
