Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Tellu

I don't think I would call this layout bad, but I don't think I would call it good, either. For some reason, it just strikes me as kind of bland. First of all, I REALLY don't like the way the stars just abruptly cut off on the right side. They're not even lined up with the navigation menu... this is just very poor graphic-making. The main picture seems like it was just thrown together in about two minutes... there's nothing pretty or nice about it. Just one big picture with a few smaller ones randomly placed around it with no rhyme or reason. I think maybe some improvements to the main picture would be to make it seem like random somehow. It's like this person only had a few pictures to use, so he/she just threw them together. How about some nice blends, or pictures that go together a little more? The font is really cute, though... one of my favorites.

I guess the only thing I can really say about this layout is that it needs to look like more thought was put into it. Right now it really looks like the webmaster just put something together in five minutes, picking up random pictures on the way. Not that it's horrible or anything like that; it's just that it somehow lacks cohesion.

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Eudial

Ya know...How does one expect Eudial to do a review on the written section when NONE of that is even complete.

I automatically lable this site bad in the written department since there's nothing for me to review.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Mistress9

Well, this is the first time I've ever reviewed media, so I hope it's adequate.

The thing about this site is that Media is not grouped together. Some can argue that "Awards (for you)" and "Gifts (for you)" could be media, but they're under the heading "Navigation."

The awards for me are very hard to read, and comic sans is never a fun font.

The gifts for me are very hard to read, and the 'passport' is hideous. Someone needs to learn how to cut out images nicely.

Adoptions are cute, I suppose. But I always find those sorts of things extraneous. Why 'adopt' them? I mean, why? What's the point?

Downloads is an inactive link, but lucky for us, fan art isn't. Unfortunately, there's nothing in the fan art or fan fiction sections. So that begs the question: Why have them as active links?

They have a nice selection of PGSM gifs, but I can't help but feel that there's too many one one page. This section would murder a dial-up. Perhaps have a few on many pages?

Look! Lyrics! That's nice....

Icons...They've a large selection of PGSM icon bases. Good!

Now the webmistress informs me that I've "reached the backgrounds section!" and she gives me permission to use the backgrounds on my site. Deary me, those would look terrible as a background on a web page. Shrink some of them down and they'd be an acceptable header image though. Unfortunately all the background are merely shrunk down samples which lead to photobucket.com. The usefulness has flown the coop.

Now there's a selection of blank banners with quality ranging from good to "Oh dear, TiaraEnvy would have a field day!"

Blank link buttons. A nice, hearty selection. Good!

Bookmarks? ...That's...new...Moving on!

The error/hiatus images have the same problem as the awards. Half the time, the text is illegible because it's light on light. At least stroke the text in a bold colour or something!

The Identification cards suffer from that problem too.

Oh look, wallpapers! The links that I clicked all worked, though the quality on some of these is lacking. A shame I suppose...

Was that good enough?
