Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Viluy

Layout this week and wow...is it a easy one or what? LOL Ok so the layout for this site is basically an pic of Ami in the left corner hanging...upside down. lol Nice...anyways and color of the background is kinda of like a very pale icy blue as I would call it!

All the site info is listed to the left side of the web page, just on the right of the picture of Ami. It's laid out nicely, with small font. All the links are below and again the navigation is a rather simple one to use.

When you click on a link, you basically get the same color background minus the picture of Ami. All the information that are on those pages that the links take you to are all on the left side.

Now overall, the site is really easy to look at and use. I have no real complaint really in that regard, the only thing is, I am a center person and I really wish people would center this stuff or at least add something in that rather LARGE space to the right on all the pages. It makes the site look so bland. Plus you don't need to have all your information on every page off to the left, it wouldn't hurt to break it up some by centering the information on the pages.

Over all, the site's layout is decent, could use some little tweaking here and there, but nothing that calls for it to be completely ugly. So that's my review for the week, a decent layout, easy on the eyes and easy to use!

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Tellu

Although this webmaster types well and uses decent (but not always great) grammar, something about the written content on this site is just kind of bland. I don't feel like I've learned anything at all... there's just not enough here for me (or anyone) to really come away from this site with anything at all. The site also mixes anime and manga information, which is a big no-no! Things are just not the same from one continuum to the next, so mixing the info just confuses people.

The intro section is an extremely basic overview of the series. We're talking REALLY basic, here. I'm not sure why it was included, and I think it should be taken out. To me, it just seems like a waste of space. The about section is just the same old info you see everywhere, and the powers page is a basic list of Sailor Mercury's powers, without real descriptions or information. The items section is a little more informative, but I was so bored I didn't really read it. The love section is just lame.

Overall, I have to say that this is NOT a very informative site. On top of that, it's just plain boring. Blah... nothing good here.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Cyprine

Cyprine here on media, and it looks like this will be a relatively short review.

Off I go to the "Images" section. This gallery is nicely organized with thumbnails and the pictures all work. What is really nice is that the webmistress used all scans of trading cards rather than the same old pictures we've seen everywhere else. It's a shame there aren't more of them.

The "Sounds" section is not so successful. "Using the patented technology of turning the volume up really loudly on the TV halfway across the room, I managed to make some sound files of Sailormercury as heard in the Japanese and German versions of the anime." Ladies and gentlemen, that is a really crappy way of obtaining sound files. You're much better off going without, as proven by the awful quality of these clips. Great idea, horrible execution.

The rest of the images on the site are itty-bitty thumbnails in the different information sections. I wish they would open into larger, full files, but unfortunately, you can't always get what you want.

That's about it for media. Not exactly impressive, but it's still a fairly decent job.
