Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Ptilol

Goody... frames... Actually this layout is not bad. There are only two sections. One ginormous main section and a smaller one on the left side. The colors are very gentle on the eyes. It's all done in nice neutral tones.

One the left section the images are "sepia photos" of the characters. They've been made to look older. Each one can be clicked to go to the respective character's image gallery.

The layout is nice, but needs work in some areas. Organize it into sections, ie awards, random stuff, etc. The everything-in-one-area-with-a-really-long-scroll-bar thing doesn't work so well. Sorry, no kudos for you.

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Tellu

Wow, it's going to be so hard to restrict myself only to the written content on this one. I'd just really love to rant about all the other things on this site... like the horrible layout, the awful navigation, etc. But I won't. I'll only comment on the written part, I swear...

This person has pretty decent grammar. That's a plus, I suppose. I'm immediately greeted with text proclaiming that this site has the BEST Sailor Moon pictures on the 'net and "lots of 'em." Awfully cocky, aren't we? Well, I'm here to tell ya... these are most certainly NOT the best pictures I've ever seen. But I won't comment on that... because I'm only supposed to be reviewing the written content.

How lovely... I can already see that the menu on the left is screwed up. She's using names from the DiC dub, and randomly decides to use "Ami" instead of "Amy." Why?? Moving on to the actual profile pages... the first thing that bugs me is the fact that this person is putting the ages of the senshi in their stats. Why do this? Their ages change within the series; they don't remain static. I hate sites who use the ages of the senshi. Next, this person is starting off the stats with the Japanese names of the senshi, and then using information from the dubbed version of Sailor Moon. She also lists North American and Japanese attack names... together. Make up your mind! A lot of the information on the stats pages is made up, as well. Amy is not "in training to be a pediatrician, like her mother." Nor is one of her "likes" listed as "Greg." Ever. And nothing anywhere says that Michiru dislikes "danger." She also doesn't have an attack called "Aqua Mirror Reflector." It really irks me when people just randomly make things up and present them as facts.

That's pretty much for written content here... man, I wish I could talk about how crappy the rest of this site is, but I'll save that for another day ;)

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Fritter's Sailor Moon Indulgence

....wow, what a name. lol. Well, we'll see if the name is as grandoise as the site. Only one way to find out right? Im in charge of general media today so I'm looking forward to seeing what is there.

ok, opening page...the main picture is toned down to work with the background color. Good, at least its not screaming "I'm healthy!!" at me. lol. Lets see, this person has banners and awards on this main page, and to my surprise, they all are functioning normally. Wow...thats almost...rare. The pictures on the side are also toned down to sorta match the background. Not too bad.

Now, im guessing that this site has only photos and not videos, soooo Im gonna concentrate on that. Starting with "Serena"...ewwww...dub. Ok, the banner on the top, way too white! Cant even see the image, and to be honest, all that white is kinda bugging me. Besides this error, all the pictures work here. Moving on...

Ami...same issue as Usagi, that white is a bit too much. Its not as bad as Usagi's, but still. And like Usagi, all pictures work. Rei, ok...im seeing a pattern here... the pictures work, but that banner is just too white. The pattern goes like that until we reach Mamoru...the whole thing changes from there. All the pictures still work and all, however, the order of things has changed drasticly.

So, after going through A LOT of pictures...I can see that they all work. In regards to pictures, not too shabby. Just fix those banners...

Overall

How does the site flow, overall? What are the wholistic impressions the viewer gets from the site?

*snore*

Immediately, I dislike this layout. I hate when people go sepia-crazy -- sure it makes pictures look more elegant, but this site looks almost boring -- there's no colour to catch my eye. This statement: "I am not here to make you listen to the same midi file you've heard on 12 other Sailor Moon pages today." makes me happy, although now I have to perk my ears up and keep track of direct linking and crediting of images.

Here's one thing that webmasters have to be aware of: keep your index pages short. There is absolutely no reason why this site needs to prop every single award this site has ever won on the main index page. I should only be forced to load this images when I choose to, not by default.

Alright, each of the character's pages have the dollbox stats, the list of attacks (which looks like it might be copied from something) and the so-called main draw of the site, the picture gallery.

These galleries are not organized. They aren't even thumbnailed. And more importantly, they are not credited! The picture galleries include fanart that I know for sure are not allowed to be spread around without credit (or really even at all). Moreover, if I didn't have cable, I would hate this site because it would take forever to load.

The Lita profile has a long and verbose "interview" with Sailor Jupiter -- it's neither entertaining nor enlightening. It would be good to have an interview that gave us a really good unique perspective of Lita/Makoto's character -- which is why asking "her" how the communicators work is boring and irrelevant.

Okay, the House of Evil link crashed my browser. Enough of this, this site needs help.
