The Sailor Moon Pocky Box : Reviews

Layout & Design Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing? |
CyprineThe main layout for this site is pretty bland: how does this site manage to make one of the most beautiful manga Sailor Moon images look boring? The brown/sepia colourization just saps all the energy out of this image and makes it look yawn-erific. Also, the building of this layout is pretty awful: it looks like someone used the magic lasso and cut Sailor Moon's cape out in about five minutes; the edge just looks awful. The next big no-no committed by this site is the switch to a different layout with the sub-sections. This second layout is more attractive than the main sepia layout, it being a bright yellow and at least cut out well. However, there is a sunspot effect used on Sailor Moon's eye that obscures her irises and makes her look blind. Also, the background image of the content, another beautiful manga image, is so washed out it's barely worth including. Overall, this layout is just bland, but because it manages to ruin a couple of great manga images, this accomplishment alone pushes my vote to bad. |

Written Content Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content? |

Written.... how I always dread having to do written columns, but here it is none the less. You should be aware though that this site has quite a bit of written content. I will NOT be going over it all in depth but rather skimming some of it and analyzing other bits of it. Also a good portion of the written content here is based upon opinion essays. Meaning they aren't technically wrong by standpoint but they may be by information. That will now be examined.

Visual Content What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally? |

This is just... sad. So I'm reviewing the media section, so I expect to see... well, something. Anything. Unfortunately,
there is nothing here. I like galleries, so let's start with that. The B&W manga gallery appears to currently be
unavailable. There is no link to it, just some text. There ARE links to the group and "single" anime galleries, but...
those apparently also unavailble. The webmaster is whining about someone direct-linking files. Umm.. turn off direct-linking
if you have a problem? It's not that difficult. The color manga gallery is linked to moonroses.net, which seems to NOT
be working. So, nothing there. This site gets a big fat F as far as galleries are concerned!
