Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Eudial

oooo Ooooooo OOOOOOO! I like the splash page. That image is very well done. ^.^ This could show a certain lvl of skill that the creator has in HTML.

Alright, so my job today is layout so lets see what we got. Hmmm, well, i dunno if the page is not supposed to be seen at another resolution, but it appears to have a lot of empty spaces in it. For example, there is a big space on the top of the site where a banner could go easier. Im gonna check... *time goes by*... Ok, its not a resolution issue. Im on 1024 x 760, and changed it to 800 x 600. No good.

Ok, the layout is quite nice. The main navigation is on the top, and whenever you click on a specific section, a sub navigation appears on the left side. I support this idea as the sides NEED something in those large gaps. The main text is centered on the page, and the layout is universal to all sections. GOOD!

The color scheme is just as I'd like it, subtle and pleasing to my eyes. Its not incredibly loud or makes u wanna look away from the screen in disgust. Bright colors make me angry. lol.

Ok, well, this is a rather small site, so im done here. I like the layout here. Its actually nice. Good job.

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Evil evil evil fortunecity. It keeps popping up stupid ads.

Okay, I have to ask why this site includes information about the webmaster in their information section? Shouldn't that be a sitey thing?

I read through the "about me" section, and dammit, I want that ten minutes of my life back. There's random and then there's stupid random -- this is stupid random. If I cared about this person enough to want to read their about me section, I wouldn't want to have my time wasted with this senseless rambling.

Onward to Sailor Neptune.

Michiru. Scout. Same sentence. Bad.

The random information about Michiru is thankfully less random and more or less accurate -- but only because it's vague. Other than "Michiru has great hair, and oh, yeah, she's kinda emotionally chilly", I learned nothing about Sailor Neptune.

The site also has a small section of links. Very small.

This site has basically nothing that grabs my attention as far as the written word.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Galleries - the images are well organised into categories, but the images themselves are poorly presented. As I've mentioned before, it helps to have a uniform size to all the images on your page, no matter the dimensions of the originals. Also, it's a good idea to try to only use images that are of good or better quality. Poor quality images ruin a gallery, IMHO. There are quite a few good images, but the whole effect is spoiled with the bad ones.

Music - midis are fine, and there are quite a few of them. There's no mention of what series they are from, whether as music from the anime, the CDs or the Sera Myu musicals. Might want to change that. Just having them labelled as English, Japanese etc. isn't quite enough for new fans of the shows. You might want to consider separating out the different shows' worth of Japanese music midis, for one thing, because having it as one huge long list like that is a bit overwhelming and daunting for someone who's only looking for a few songs. Plus they may want to know where the song comes from.

What worries me is the distinct lack of credit on the site. Having links isn't enough - you need to mention that you've gotten permission to have this stuff up, as well as the links you have. It lets us know that you're not a thief (not that I'm saying you are....) and also helps us to find other things if we can't find what we're looking for on your particular site(s). Some people credit on the pages where the images and music (or other media) are used, some people mention that they are crediting and who, etc. The links with descriptions are not nearly enough to let us know you're crediting where you got the things you've used. This site could use a lot of work on presentation.

Overall

How does the site flow, overall? What are the wholistic impressions the viewer gets from the site?

My heart weeps...
Human beings are so good at destroying things that are beautiful. This site is no exception. The layout here appears to be very, very nice! Except... that it is hosted on fortunecity, and there are tons of banner ads that utterly mutilate the whole thing. It appears that this person has attempted to cover some banner ads with images. That would be a good idea, except that the images aren't big enough. Only part of the banner ad is covered, leaving sharp edge where the image ends. The text is also covering the ads, so that it unreadable at times. Oh, the horror. This is such a tragedy...

Writing
Is it really that difficult to construct coherent sentences? I think not. Has this person ever heard of a run-on sentence? Well, she's certainly very good at them. Memorable quotations:

"But if you use all the pictures I have found, stick them on some website, and don't bother linking me...I'll be really pissed, but if you take some, it's really no biggie if you don't link me."
"I'm not insane just very happy, don't ask why I don't know."

Content
This site has no original content. The images are all obviously from other places (not credited), as are the MIDIs. The information on Michiru was not even written by the owner of this website! Ugh! Why bother reposting stuff that's already out there? Geez, just do something original for once.

Also, the Michiru information is just... retarded. Sorry, I have no better word for it. This person claims that she "never" uses the North American dub names, but then goes on to say "scouts." Huh? She says that there are "hints of a deeper relationship" in the North American dub. Um... no. They're cousins. The end. And if you think there's anything deeper in the North American dub, you're sick and twisted. In the Japanese original, however, they are lesbians. This site says that that's only true in the Japanese manga - although it's definitely true in the Japanese anime, as well!

WTF?
We've already established that the images and MIDIs are OBVIOUSLY not credited. The site owner here, however, is demanding that people who use the images from this site credit HER! About her doujinshi gallery, she says:
"Keep in mind doujinshi is fanart done by individual artists. If you take doujinshi and decide to make it part of your layout you really should do a little research and find out who did it and give that person credit. "
Now wait a minute... she thinks that other people should research the images and find out who did them before using them, but she feels that SHE can place them in her gallery without credit? What a double standard! On her links page, she says:
"I got doujinshi from here. I know I wasn't supposed to take them...so shoot me I'm human"
WHAT?? She knows she shouldn't take them. She does anyway. And then she tells people not to take them from her site, and to "research" them and give credit to the original artists. What the hell? Can someone please find this girl a brain donor? Something is seriously askew here.
