SaturnAlright, now I usually go into a review without any bias and I am trying my hardest to do this one without a bias, but I absolutely adore this site. I love Lisa (the owner) to pieces and she has built such a beautiful and functional site that I can do nothing but sing praise it seems.Lets do this right though. The first thing on this page's layout is the main image. It is well blended, beautiful colorwise, easy on the eyes and employs a lot of nice effects that aren't overly cheesy or redundant. Kudos Lisa! I really like the layout. Anybody who visits this site will notice that it is BURSTING with content. This site is about fandom. By that I mean, it is the ultimate image gallery for whatever you are looking for. On the surface it doesn't look all that chock full, but almost cluttered with a lot. It also looks bloggish. Bloggish works in this case. If it weren't for that cotinuity of the blog style, this page would be a mess. I am sure Lisa knows this already and that is why she has gone with this style, so once again. Props! I don't want to say too much in this review as I truly encourage people to view the good sites as opposed to relying on our reviews of them, but the links are easy to navigate, the text is easily readable, and I will be going through this content for days it seems. So many scans. I don't want to say much more as I really don't know what to say. All except this site has highly earned its way into "The Good" column. But it isn't like I have to tell Lisa that. Her hit count and bandwidth usage should be enough that she knows that people come to her site, love it, and keep coming back. For anybody wanting to build a site, this is a good one to learn from. Simple set up. Not too heavy on graphics. Content that is unique. The bare basics of a website's foundation. Take notes, and when you build, follow those notes. |

UranusReviewing good sites isn't like reviewing bad sites. When reviewing bad sites, I have to do my best to make the review entertaining, because you're certainly not going to be entertained by the site. With a good site, it's my job to let the site shine through and make its goodness felt.Such is the case with Three-Lights-dot-net. There's so much there that no review could encapsulate it all. Let's start with layout. It's tight, and well-made. Instead of a splash screen, there's a nice graphic, folded into the background, with the page title over a checkerboard pattern. No link to click on, no self-promotion. You look at the pic and move on, scrolling down. Links are on the left, and while there's non-Sailor Moon stuff there, it's at the bottom and you can ignore it if you want or check it out. Updates are on the right, dated and succinct. Now, for content, it says right on the top that it's intended as a media site-music and pictures. And that's what's here. No senshi profiles, no beginners' guides, no "Mercury is teh smart one!" pages. What is here are pics. Lots of pics. Assloads of pics. If pics were oil, this site would be ANWR. Anime, manga, PGSM, you name it, they've got a pic. You could spend an hour at least just looking at them. But more than that, the site is useful as a reference. If you're designing icons or wallpapers (or if you just want one) just knowing this site is a resource in your arsenal. It's the kind of site you're going to tell your friends about. It's the kind of site you're going to go to because you want to, not just because you're looking for a Sailor Moon site. Look, there are two ways to have a good site. One way is to have a unique and brilliant idea. Three Lights is not that kind of site. It's just a picture gallery and those are a dime a dozen. But the other way involves a four-letter word: work. The labor hours involved in scanning the pics and designing the icons and walls are all refined into quality. And that is not common. If there's any downside to this site, it's that it may be too pic-oriented. A few essays or music info would be refreshing as a change. But because there's evidence of hard work in the site, I have every confidence that more interesting pages will be forthcoming. Don't lose this URL. Three-Lights.net is an A-list site for pictures. |

NeptuneDo I really need to review this wonderful site? I LOVE Lisa's site to death! So let's just name all the good points about this site!Good points: Layout! One of the best I've seen! *Go Lisa!* Content: Duh! No brainer there! three-lights.net is dedicated to having up to date scans of our lovely actresses! Navagation was redone to improve it-it's not crowded anymore. (Boy Lisa...I bet you had a headache redoing that!) Links: Links to hostees as well as other places she visits. (Claps as EWP is there! *Ahem!*) Text: Right color and easy to read and everything is spelled right! What else to say about three-lights.net? Well can I continue to praise this site? Ok. I will. ^_^ The best site I've reviewed to date and I doubt it will ever go bad. This is the GOD site of scans! So.....what can be improved?! LOL...yeah right...I don't see anything. *Claps for Lisa!* |
