Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Tellu

This site has three different skin options, all of which are laid out in exactly the same way, so I'll review all three of them based on the quality of the graphics. But first, I'd like to make some comments about the general organization of the site.

I like the fact that there is a menu to the right side, where I can go to any section I want. This is especially convenient because there are so many different sections. The image isn't too big at the top, which means I don't have to scroll for ten minutes before I reach actual content! Yay! The one thing that I DON'T like about the organization is that the site links (like the guestbook, info about the webmistress, etc.) is at the top. Why not with the other navigation? When you set something apart like that, people tend to forget it. It's so far away from the other important content that people won't pay attention to it.

One more tiny problem, and I'm done. I just wanted to note that I don't like the fact that the owner of the site has left the blue border around the links in the image gallery. This person obviously knows enough about coding to get rid of the hideous blue border. So why leave it there? The thumbnails could also stand to be better quality...

Green - Sailor Pluto
The colors are good, and I like the image used on the banner. The lightning, however, seems like it's just a bit too much. Sailor Pluto has nothing to do with lightning... why even put it on there? Also, the text on the banner is VERY difficult to read. The font needs to be lighter, bigger, and it REALLY should be antialiased in order to get rid of those jagged edges.

Orange/Yellow - Sailor Venus
The background of the banner here is so cute! I love the little hearts and things. The colors are good for the most part, but the dark yellow in the navigation makes it very difficult to read the links. The image of Venus seems a little... skewed to me. Like it's stretched out horizontally more than it should be. Maybe it's just drawn funny. Maybe I'm just tired. Same issues with the font here - bigger, and it needs to be antialiased. But at least I can read it this time! We're getting somewhere now!

Purple - Sailor Saturn
The picture and the background on the banner are very nice! There is still a problem with the font, however. I can read it this time, but the same problems still exist. It desperately needs to be bigger, and it MUST be antialiased to get rid of those jagged, unappealing edges.

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Main page:

everyday = every day; reveiew = review

Plot Review:

cresent = crescent; cats' = cat's;

There are glaring grammatical errors in the plot review. Where the sentence talks about the bandage on Luna's head, it says: 'When Serena removes the bandage, a small cresent moon can be seen on the cats', Luna's, head.' Either have the 'cat's' or 'Luna's' in the sentence, not both. There's also an error in this sentence: 'The series is a dub of the Japanese anime who's name Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon can usually be seen translated into Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon.' 'Who's' should be 'which is called' or 'called' rather than what is there currently. That implies a person, rather than a thing.

'Sailor Moon the manga' should be written 'The manga Sailor Moon' for clarity, as how it looks and sounds is just very uncomfortable.

The bio of Takeuchi-sensei: manga is pluralised when it shouldn't be.

Inner Senshi bios:

Disquise = Disguise; Esculation = Escalation; Theorpy = Therapy; niave = naive; pressences = presences; Evelution = Evolution; Shiny should be Shine

Crisis make up power is in the power list for Sailor Moon twice and this: # Series2: SMR doesn't look right within the list as it is. The word Gorgeous is left out of the Moon Gorgeous Meditation attack. 'Serena finds out later in the series that she is also Princess Serenity from the Moon Kingdom of the past, and in the future she becomes Neo Queen Serenity of Crystal Tokyo, the mother of Rini and wife of King Endymion, Darien.' is not only a run-on sentence, but Darien's name doesn't need to be in there at all. The last sentence is missing 'an' between 'is' and 'exceptional'.

Rei goes to a private Catholic (convent) school, despite being a miko (priestess). She lives with her grandfather at the shrine (it is NOT a temple!). One of her powers is Fire Burning Mandala.

Outer Senshi bios:

Revoltion = Revolution

Hotaru doesn't go to Mugen Gakuen high school. She goes to the same school as Chibi-Usa (Rini).

YKYWTMSMW

albulm = album; jeapordize = jeopardize; you = your; cardigan = cardian; platfrom = platform; entirley = entirely; cresent = crescent; luckly = luckily; (in the new section) your = you're; messege = message; ruthelessly = ruthlessly; dialouge = dialogue; Saiya = Seiya

Anime Quiz - humerous should be humorous (or humourous for those of us Brit-speakers out there) and 'someof' should obviously be 'some of'.

Basically the webmistress really needs a good editor to look over the site to catch these mistakes, because they're all easily avoidable and fixable.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Ptilol

Ooooh... look at all the pretty pictures. There seems to be a pretty sizeable gallery here with images of all the Senshi and even the villians. There also images of Tuxedo Kamen, Chibi Moon and the cats. They are all categorized by character (with the exception of the villians) and arranged in neat rows of thumbnails which open into new windows to be viewed when clicked upon.

There's even a section here with animated gifs from the movies, video games, and some in Chibi form. They are very cute. I haven't seen many galleries that include them. *hands the webmistress a Kudo's bar for having them*

Let's see what else we have. There's a small fanfiction area with some nice work. Not all of it is Sailor Moon related. There are also the usual biographies about various people including the Senshi, Takeuchi Naoko, and some others. An episode list is also included along with a plot review.

Very nice media selection. Good arrangement of everything which makes it very easy to browse. Nice job Webmistress lady. I give you a B+

Overall

How does the site flow, overall? What are the wholistic impressions the viewer gets from the site?

Eudial

Well, this person knows how to make Eudial happy. Pluto is the used for the banner on the splash page. ^.^ The main page...omg! Its ORDERED!!!! I cant believe it!!! This can definitely make my day.

The main page is very well put together. There is a clear naviagation on the right, intro and tagboard in the center, and a sub bar on the top. Going into information now.

Omg! Beautiful! Someone who explains Sailor Moon and DOESNT spoil the entire story for you. Yes! There is also a little bio about the creator of Sailor Moon, Tarkeuchi-sama, and bios of the inner and outer senshi. The bios of the inner and outer senshi are done farily well. Its your typical stat information, but i love the chibis used. hehehe

The image galleries are order pretty well, all of the images work and they are using little thumbnails that you can click on to make larger. Niceness. In addition to media, we have movie gifs (attack sequences), game gifs (from the video game), and chibi gifs (well, chibis lol). All work just fine as well. Fanart section, you must agree to the "terms and conditions" thingy to view them, but all the art functions just fine.

The last section is some random stuff like lyrics, quizzes, YKUWTMSMW, awards, etc.

Alright, this is a good site. I like it and its ordered!!! Niceness.
