NeptuneLayout-Layout is pretty simple with an iframe on the right of the Star Locket image.
The size of the iframe is a little small as it has horizontal scrolling. Not too bad but I thought
I'd mention it. The menu is beneath the text "Serenitatis v. 6" which is beneath the iframe. It wouldn't
be too bad if the text weren't too small. Nontheless I will click on each link to see where I am taken to. |

PlutoSerenitatis v. 6 {Sparks, Embers} This is a site with a whole lot of Usagi and Mamoru images. The background is standard black with a charming picture of my favorite accessory, the Star-Shaped Pendant. ::stares @ mine on the wall:: ^_^ This page seems to be formatted for 800 x 600, so i'd suggest the creation of a possible splash page, just to let people know what it can viewed best on. The main page has a fairly good amount of sister sites and friend sites. It took a moment or two, but I was able to find the links to the site. (They have hidden away under the "Serenitatis" sign) The five links are The Galleries, Updates, Domain, Network, and Goodies. The Galleries alone are quite impressive. A very large amount of pictures containing Mamoru and Usagi from the manga, anime, and a few of the live action series. The Domain section displays multiple sections that contains things such as Awards, Contact, Past Layout, Link Ins, Site History. I'm happy to see that the creator of this site gave credit to the sites that he/she used. Network are links to fanlistings, sprite adoption, and fansites. Err, thats pretty much it for this part. Goodies are links to where you can purchase Sailor Moon manga, character books, and Anime DVDs. Alright, all and all, i really liked this site. Its simple, yet very effective. |

SaturnAlright my first impression of this site is that it is easy to view. No loud colors that make me want to smash my head into a wall or vomit. However the setup for the frame is a bit more then annoying as there is a horizontal scroll bar in the frame. I will never understand the need for those as I don't want to scroll horizontally to view a frame. However the person that created this site needs eye transplants.... wait, maybe I do because the navigation of this site is to the point that I want to lower my screen resolution. I have a res of 1024x768 and this type is WAY too small for me to read. I don't even think it would look right at 800x600 as it is just SO small. However there are alt tags so I know what is there. Upon viewing the source code, this site is obviously generated. If not then this person works for a company that produces generators. Either way, it shows why there is a horizontal scroll. I am moving onto content. The galleries are rather well put together. Every image that I clicked on worked and if you are looking at the sections, it will tell you if the layout is going to change for one of the galleries. I appreciate this as a lot of people don't do such. It is considered bad taste to change your layout, but it is forgiveable if there is fair warning. In this case it blatantly states "old format" which is acceptable to me. So thank you for this author. I don't care for the updates page as it still horizontally scrolls. However I feel that the updates should be on the main page instead of the list of "sister and affiliate" sites. However other then what I have mentioned, there isn't much else for content. This site has decent image galleries, but that is about it. Advice. Get some more content, and get rid of the horizontal scrolling on your frame. |

UranusSerenitatis claims to offer "all the Usagi and Mamoru images you can handle." But it does so in a small window that takes up less than one-quarter of the screen, and the rest is filled with a picture of Mamoru's locket, empty black space, and the site's copyright notice. I really don't want to read that at every point on the page, but such is my fate. Since the galleries are what the site is all about, I'll examine them first. Most of them are well-classified, as there are separate galleries for Sailor Moon in her various forms, which includes not only Super and Eternal but the several brooches she used as regular Sailor Moon. Manga and anime images are freely mixed, however. PGSM images, and drawn images in the style of PGSM, do have their own section, so that's something. The image thumbnails are clipped, but not so terribly as to obscure what it is. There's no close-ups on an eye unless the picture itself is mostly eyes. A series of original galleries has no classifications, but rather uses fanciful allusions to rooms as so many pages once did. These would probably be better served by folding them in with the newer galleries. That's pretty much all there is to say about the images themselves, so I'll just cover one or two things about the site and the author. The good thing is that the graphics are free for use, and no credit is required. That's good if you're making avatars or such. The less good thing is the attitude of the author, which is dismissive and does not seem open to questions. The site FAQ claims this is because too many fans have been annoying, but I still say that too many is better than too few. The other off-putting thing about the site is that all the links to potentially helpful sites like Amazon (for purchasing the manga or the DVDs) and the site's host all have a clause in the link identifying the source so the site owner can get a cut. I've never really liked that sort of thing. Just put a Paypal button on and be done with it. So given the impersonality of the site, my recommendation is to just keep the link handy in case you need an image of Sailor Moon or Tuxedo Kamen, but don't actually go visiting, because you'll only give yourself a headache. |
