UranusThe Sailor Senshi Page is linked from a lot of pages, and for good reason. All the things that other introductory sites try to do, this one does par excellence. It may not be quite as much use to the expert, but there is one gem that is particularly worth reading. I will discuss that later. The above is not to say that the site is without flaws. The site section heads up the menu and the FAQ is very argumentative. That means that not only are people going to be ticked off, but people who have no intention of doing anything other than viewing the page are drawn to wade through the hassle caused by those with more nefarious designs. Not fun. The information section of the page is quite useful. While the senshi profiles are there, I'll forgive them because they're spread among write-ups on just about every other recurring character. And those are actual interesting tidbits. If you must have profiles, that's the way to go about doing it. Episode summaries are also here. But where the page shines is in the information not available simply by watching the show. The Japanese myths, the historical and mythological influences, these are the sort of writings that are fun for any fan to read, not just the newbie who has googled "Sailor Moon." There is a page on the various international versions of Sailor Moon, and as it's written by fans from around the world, it's generally informational. The page on the North American dub, however, is far too objective and not critical enough. The image gallery is not as large as it could be, because there are no images other than the ones the site author bought and scanned. That's still a decent amount, but it's not so useful if you're looking for images for editing or use, or even because you want to look at pretty pictures. The best thing to be said about these images is that they are rare. I'll hit a few more highlights before I get to the main event. There are items for sale, but that page has not been updated in a year, so caveat emptor. There are some nice looks at the DVD releases, so if you're into knowing how good the audio and the extras are, take a look. And there is an online greeting card sender for Sailor Moon. I would be so happy to get one of those. But. The main reason, the pinnacle of the site, it's greatest raison d'etre, is the Dumb Rumors page. Eleven long pages of suggestions that, if you're a knowledgeable fan, will make you bust a gut. Doubly so when you consider that someone believed every one of these, and trebly so when you read the funny MST-like comments written by the author or the contributors. Take an hour out of your life and read all of these in succession, because everyone deserves to laugh like a madman once in a while. Some are a little blue (some are a lot), but such is the way of things when it comes to dumb rumors. Only fault in the page is that it's static and refuses new submissions. And the opening page rails against the copycat pages. Well, if this one isn't going to add any more, let someone else take over the concept. (not the actual material-stealing is wrong, kids) The reason given is that it's all been said. But I think it's wonderful to take a joke and go way too far with it. So here we end. Certainly the page deserves to be called Great, and there is plenty of helpful information. But what I'll always think of when The Sailor Senshi Page comes up is a hilarious read, and feeling superior to the less-obsessed fans. |

NeptuneLayout-Main menu is on the left with a little menu on top. It doesn't bother me in the least as the site makes up for it. The first page we see has the welcome/updates and according to the webmaster, she wants to change the layout but really doesn't have the time. And seeing how huge this site is, I can understand that. But I can still hope for a fresh layout. Easy navigation and all the links work. There's tons of content on this site so I am going to do a brief description on what's available.Content-We have gallaries, we have Manga/Anime/SeraMyu/PGSM information, we have clips from the Anime and PGSM and so on.... This site has it all. The gallaries range from Doujinshi, coloring books, Cels (used in the Anime), and more. Something to look through. I love the pictures in the doujinshi. ^^ Moving onto the information, the webmistress compiled descriptions of the episodes character information (fav. food, height...), Movie and Seiyuu information. For those who are new to Sailor Moon (*gasp!* Welcome!), Seiyuu is the Japanese term for VA or Voice Actor/Actress. And what this site has that other don't are images of the Seiyuu with thier character (well until you get to the Seiyuu for Uranus then it's just the image of the VA)! You really need to go through the site to see what kind of information is available as there's just way too much to list. However, I will mention the 'Dumb Rumors' page. ROFL! This and the media are the main focus of the site. It makes me wonder, how all of these rumors get started! If you want a good laugh, read all of them when you have the time! Oh and speaking of media, SSP has clips from the Anime and PGSM. Everyone knows where to go to get that transformation clip or attack clip. I just suggest you guys read the policies before downloading. Don't want to get banned do you?! Background colors/text-Black on white. Yes there's blue behind the white but that's part of the layout setup. The text is a standard black and easy to read. Nothing blinds me and I don't need to highlight anything. Another plus for this site. Overall Opinion-I love this site from day one and I know you guys will as well. There's tons of things to read through that I just couldn't mention them all. I really want you guys to visit this site and see what it has to offer. |

PlutoAh, the Sailor Senshi Page. I recall bumping into this site once or twice before. Well, there are nice colors and the main page is very well organized. Navagation is on the left and updates on the right side.I will say, the content on this website is extremely detailed. It seems to know almost everything related to Sailor Moon. They have episode summaries, the dub, the manga of both Sailor and Code Name wa Sailor V, PGSM, and Sera Myu. PGSM's episodes are still incomplete however. The Images and multimedia are pretty good as well...animebooks, doujinshi (hehe), the trading card game thing, and others. The multimedia section is a few sounds clips and some movies. I believe the movies are the henshin of the senshi. I find the influences on SM art to be really interesting. The last example has a broken link for Usagi, however. So, I'll have to use my imagination. (dam) In this 'opinions' section, there are also the VHS/DVD colors of SM that were made for Pioneer. Only the SM movies were created for this page, however. Services & joinable...merely where to get SM merchandise and a few Sailor Moon fansites. Links has a few more SM of interest and a brief summaries of their content. The Awards section is nice. This site won quite a few rewards...props to them. And my conclusion, I like the site very much. Its a great site for detail. *thumbs up* |

SaturnThe Sailor Senshi Page. I have been wondering when this site would come up on our list. I have been a long time fan of this site, and thusly I know a lot of content of this site by heart. However I have also seen a lot of sites that have just ripped things from this site. Alas, that is the case with most of the good sites. They are SO good that people want to replicate their level of status in the online community. However stealing the content does nothing for those sites other then making them look bad. There are 9 main categories of content on this site. Instead of dissecting each one of them, I am going to vaguely go over them. I am doing this because I know this is a wonderful site and I expect you to check it out if you don't already know it. The first section on this site I find to be the most important. It is the information about the site itself. There are such things here as a rather extensive FAQ (that I agree with in EVERY way), SSP in Other Languages, Gifts, and Honorary Staff. There is SM Information here that is rather extensive and covers all aspects of SM from manga to PGSM. There are also things ushc a Japanese terms and myths, Mythological Influences, and a nice Items Encyclopedia. The Image Galleries and overall Multimedia section of this site is rather nice and I recoomend it. However I am not going further. (Take a look at the site!) Ahh, who am I kidding. Reviewing this site is going to take forever! Get your butt over and look at this wonderful site and take my word for it. You will find that it is worth it! |
