PlutoSailorSS.com The splash page did not get me off to a good start. The reason being is that the picture isn’t showing up at all. There no color to the splash page, just plain white. So, I’m predicting that this person doesn’t have much experience in web design just from seeing the splash page.Alright, the “main page” has a picture of the …… four senshi? What the hell?!?!? ::looks closely:: Sailor Jupiter is cut off. FOR SHAME!!!!! And Ami-chan’s head forehead is cut off as well. All this may have taken is a little resizing of the picture. Even I can do that. The main page is separated into four mains parts; musics, movies, galleries, and downloads. The music section is more or less a section that lets u download majority of the songs from the anime, and a few from PGSM. The background picture of a drawn picture of Sailor Moon is nice and all, but dull colors from the “buildings in the background sometimes make the text hard for me to read. I would suggest changing this. The movies section is kinda deceiving to me as I was expecting clips from episodes and such. It seems to just be Sailor Moon’s transformations and attacks. I don’t see why having these are so special as you see them at least once per episode. I suppose its…ok to have these. ::shrugs:: ::clicks on galleries:: WOW….there’s COLOR!!!! My word!!! A pleasant blue color, and it appears there are pictures here from the manga and the Sailor Moon artbooks that I’ve seen before. Im very upset w/ the “Transparent GIFs” section as I thought it would original work. However, it’s the gifs from the video games. I know this b/c I played these games soooo much that I can just tell immediately. Well, that’s it for the galleries for me, im very disappointed. The downloads sections is simply some of the Sailor Moon video games that I mentioned previously. There are only three here though. Once again, the background gets in the way of the text a little bit. As for this site, I shall rate it a 5/10. |

SaturnWell this site isn't starting off too well. The splash image is broken. Lets head inside and hope for something better.I'm glad to see that the main page looks better. The layout is easy on the eyes, and the images are nicely blended so that there are no severe cutoffs at the bottom. There is quite an extensive Music collection here. Even I am impressed. However I am NOT impressed that the layout changed. It looks good, why did they change it? Moving onto "Movies". When I first saw the option for "Episodes" I was a bit more then disappointed, however I see that this person merely has two links in this section. Both of them are places to get the episodes. The first is where to buy them and the other is where to download Stars. I am glad that my hopes for this site have shot up a notch. The galleries are disappointed. Whereas they are decent content wise, the layout completely changes to something that is less then appealing. Not only that, but I know that some of these are directly jacked from other sites. However I see no credit given. Downloads. I always fear this category. This section is the downfall of this site. Everything is horribly organized and I exprienced my first broken link. This site needs a good bit of help. It is a decent start, but there isn't much here and credit needs to be given, along with a semblence of uniformity. I have seen at least 5 different layouts in this site thus far and that isn't good. Stick to one thing or at least know what you want. As it stands I think this person is a budding web author and can go SOMEWHERE, but before they get there, the viewers are going to need a LOT of Vicodin for the pain. |

UranusSplash page: no frames, so pop-ups, no functional image. No good. You know that saying, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression"? Well, that's how it is here. Moving past, you'd see that the site is all about file service, so maybe we can forgive the layout. But even so, it isn't good. While none of the layouts on this site are intensely offensive to the eye, the fact that it changes on every page, and that all of them are sub-par, means that you're always going to notice it, and not in a positive way. Some of them are themed around some kind of metropolitan city theme, which really doesn't work for Sailor Moon. The other ones are plain and ordinary. Maybe it's the city's subway. But what the site's about is the downloadable content, music and clips and such. The music section has a good selection of many of the popular CDs, including a lot of the PGSM stuff, though the box set is available only as a zip. The files are .oggs, the virtues of which the site author extols in the FAQ, but still aren't as popular as mp3s because, well, they're not as popular. But if you need music and know of some good conversion techniques, it's valuable. There exists a section for movies, but the only ones accessible are the henshin/attack clips. There is a page for episodes, but the link to it doesn't work. You have to guess the URL and once you get there it's apologizing for not being able to host them. Well, isn't that nice. There are some places to get them, but one is a bit torrent link to Sailor Stars (that's good) and the other is a place to buy them (that's not-if we were looking to obtain the episodes through legal means, we wouldn't be here.) Then we have galleries, which show work, and have mistakes. Biggest one is that the section labeled transparent gifs is actually animated gifs. Big difference between transparent and animated. There is also a section for doujinshi, but it's only cover and some interior pages, which might confuse people who would think that there are actual full doujinshi here (like me). So that's the story here. I might say the site would do better as an ftp server, except that no one uses ftp servers anymore. The content is here, but the things that make a web page worth going to aren't. But the fact that you can get a good supply of music is One Very Good Thing. |

NeptuneWelcome-The splash page image doesn't work but it does list the requirements to view the site.Layout-Upon first glance I am not sure it this has a layout but let me disect the site to find out. One little thing the author should know is that Mercury's head is cut off. I think if the author lowers the image, the site would look better. After clicking on the first link the background changes (the buildings are the same-different image) and we have a problem. The artist who made Sailor Moon shown here, has stated NOT to use it on ANY site. I remember this because somebody posted this image on LJ and got in trouble. Needless to say the author has not read the artist request. Content-The site offers clips, music, lyrics but these were made by other people. Most of the lyrics come from Kurozuki and we all know that posting his translations are forbidden. Another strike for this site. Tsk tsk. The wallpapers are really nothing. The person just cropped the image from the Manga and that's it. I swear! These aren't even considered wallpapers in my book. The author didn't take the time to even make a proper wallpaper! Another thing I don't like are the galleries. The freakin layout keeps changing and it's not even consistant! My advice is to keep to one layout that has the same colors (unless you're an advance web designer the pay no heed to me. ^^;). Backgrounds-Too many! Besides the stolen image used, the background for the galleries changes with every click. Again please stick with one background as it is easier on the eyes! White on black works wonders if you wan't a solid color layout design. Overall Opinion-The site needs to be scrapped and needs something new. The author needs to get rid of the stolen content and ask for permission to use. Another advice I'll give to the author is this: Please give credit! I don't see where you got the media from or the gifs/images. The only thing "credited" are the translations. |
