Ok, Pure Star Seed...Black background on the splash page and fairly nice pic on it, but the black of the pic blends with the background.

Ok, well, the starlights look like they were scanned because their a bit blurry. it also looks like the work was done in MS paint. Just an observation, of course. I have no idea. Ok, naviagation on the left and the updates in the center.

Ok, Info...no one is done except Sailor Moon. OK! Nothing here is about the character Sailor Moon, just what he thinks of her...ummmm...riiiight.

Media, decent amount of audio files and has two episodes of sailor stars.

Ok, wait a bloody moment...there's NOTHING to this site!!! Why on earth is this site on the internet if it isnt done yet?!?? There are programs that let u make sites before posting them. Hell, i have a program for that and I dont even make websites. Get more done to this site quickly.

Alright, I have a splash page. Splash pages are good. Except this one isn't. The point of a splash image is for it to stand out from the rest of the page to show it is an image and not part of a layout. You have your requirements listed below it, and that is fine, but you don't have a black background with a splash image that has a black background. Also, without it being an image with a visible border, Moon looks like something is coming out of her back and that her arms were swallowed up by the evil black monster with gold eyes that say "Enter". I am going to touch that monster now and see if I can put him to sleep so I can enter.

Alright, same image is used in this layout that I see. However, her hands are STILL cut off. The wings I suppose, are supposed to hug the left of the page, but they don't. Instead there is about a 10 pixel black line. Once again, I guess her wings were amputated, and in the spirit of a review I did a while back, I shall have to say it... "Hooray for amputee Sailor Moon!" The best part is that it is a double amputation.

The Starlights are here as well. I understand that the Lights were a big part of the Stars season, but they don't work in this layout. First off, they are BADLY extracted and grainy. You have Eternal Sailor Moon on the left and she is considerably darker than the Lights on the right. The Lights are ALSO amputees! They are footless, though as to why, I don't know. Also Yaten, let me know where you get your hair products as your hair is chopped off at one point but stays up SO well! I need to know where to get the product that makes hair THAT stiff!

There are two boxes in this layout. One is on the left and is small and labeled above it trying to peek up Moon's skirt is the word "navigation". Yes, there is no capital "N" on that. On the right there is another box with the opening lines to the Sailor Stars opening on it. And we should all be jealous, because those words are snuggles Yaten's boob nicely. However, neither of these boxes are really good. Here is the problem. I am all for opacity on a box for a site. However, it doesn't work in this respect. Why you might ask? Because you see, this person has used a black background once again, and these boxes are WHITE. Yes folks I said WHITE!

The navigation on the left is pretty badly done as well. You see, there are lots of links here, and some information such as "Layout by: Ami" which is a lie as I know that the person that made this layout goes by the name of Ami but that isn't HIS real name. The coding claims to be by "Ami" as well. There also appears to be some text below that, but I can't see it as this person forgot to turn on the scrolling function of this IFRAME. And even better. Instead of just cutting out the 20 or so pixel blank spot in the iframe that would have allowed you to view the last line, it is just dead space. The person claims that they coded this themself which doesn't appear to be true. I can say that after viewing the spacing on the source code. That is generated spacing and on top of it, anybody that I know that hand codes tables doesn't bother with putting "cellpadding" and "cellspacing" in ANYTHING that doesn't have it. It isn't necessary and is trademark of generated code. Nice try there "Ami", but you got busted again. And anybody that knows ANYTHING about hand coding html will know that I am right and you will NOT be able to convince them, no matter how much you claim that you are innocent. Plus your reputation precedes you.

Now everybody might wonder why I have spent so much time on just the layout of this site. Well that is easy. There isn't much here for content. There are "updates", but nothing of importance. There is an "info" category that just dumbfounds me. This person claims that a lot of people don't like Sailor Moon because of her "odangos".... alright first off, it is ODANGO regardless of how many there are. I happen to know that this person at one time was offering "japanese lessons" yet they don't know that there is no pluralization....

Anyhow, aside from that, I have NEVER heard of anybody not liking SM because of her hairstyle. Usually it is because they don't like cutesy stuff, or she is too lovey, or she is stupid, or annoying. Well those are all valid reasons, but NOT her hairstyle.... Now who pulled WHAT out of their ass to write THIS splooge? Hell everybody I ever knew that hated SM thought that her hairstyle was one of the ONLY redeeming factors about the show, so maybe a balding man in a sportsbar might have this opinion, but it would be because of his five year old liking the show and he wishes he wasn't blinding the bartender with his glistening scalp of doom. Get your information straight, cause this isn't info but rather an opinion.

Oh goody! Media! Oh wait! These are the EXACT same files that are at SailorMusic.net Way to go to be original there! Oh and what is this? Stars episodes in REAL MEDIA format? Man you went for PURE originality here didn't you?

Alright now that my sarcasm is dripping, lemme explain why this section pisses me off. The whole point of a fansite is to offer something to the fans. However that has gotten lost in every little sheep that wants to create a fansite to "fit in" with the community. That being the case, you get a few people that do all the work and then the rest of the people that take all that hard work (with or without permission) and just slap it on their site because it gives them a hardon and makes them think that they are something special. This site is one of those instances.

If I wanted to get Sailor Stars episodes (I don't need to as I wore out my fansub tapes YEARS ago), I sure wouldn't come to THIS hole in the wall unknown piece of crap site. I would go to one of the many MUCH BETTER sites like the one that this person got them from. I don't want to go to a site that got content from another site and is using it to fill in the holes on their site because they have NOTHING original to add to their own site. Same with the music files. First off, I don't care for ogg format as if I want to put that song in my iPod I have to go through the trouble of converting it and lose quality on it. However I also know that these files are from the site I mentioned before which is the proverbial playground for any song you might ever want from SM. Hense, why would I bother coming to this site once again to get something from a site that is much better organized, easier on the eyes, and actually deserves credit for their HARD WORK which this person doesn't seem to appreciate in the fact that they even bothered to use those filed with or without permission! In closing to this subject matter, I say this to any budding fansite authors.... BE ORIGINAL DAMMIT!!! I DON'T WANT TO GO TO SOME GEOCITIES HOSTED SITE OR A SITE THAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR EACH MONTH TO SEE THE SAME THING ON SITES THAT I RESPECT JUST TO BE MAD AT YOUR SITE FOR NOT DOING ANY FRICKIN WORK!!! *end rant

There is some original fanart on here which is alright, but might I suggest the artist invest in a MUCH better eraser. There is nothing worse than seeing some fanart that is supposedly in its final state and it having VERY visible erase lines on it or lines that don't look like there was ever attempted an erase. As a former fan artist, I can say this. The better the supplies you have, the better your artwork will be. Everybody starts somewhere, but you need to invest in the proper tools if you want to go further.

Well that was hard. I have reached the end of the site. There is one good thing on this site that MIGHT be worth seeing more of. That is the fanart. You have a good start here kid when it comes to art. Why not scrap this site and make one of your ORIGINAL fanart instead? It would at least make you a bit more credible and give your site some meaning instead of being one of the many "lost in the fray" SM sites out there that people don't visit and you waste your money paying for. You have my advice, good luck, cause you are going to need it.

Welcome to part two of what's becoming a series here, as we tear up, I mean examine the many web sites by a single author, whose personal actions you may read about in our drama section. Pure Star Seeds (thankfully revised from its original broken-Japanese title) is a slapped-together look at the anime, mostly Sailor Stars.

Now, as to the framed layout, let me just say that if I wanted to read my web pages written on cheese cloth covering Star Fighter's and Star Healer's asses, I would have bought my own cheese cloth. More seriously, the semi-transparent background definitely obscures the text and warrants the control-a trick. The height of the site is another problem. It's stretched just enough that you have to cut off either the pottom of the page freame or the top of the title. This is at 1024x768, I remind you. According to the site section (leading off the menu, not good), the coding is done by hand. Yes, well. . . view the source code and judge for yourself.

The info section is All Senshi Profiles, All the Time. Only Sailor Moon is up, and it is one weird mamma-jamma of a profile. Now, you all know I love opinions, but I thought it would go without saying that they have to make sense. Evidently I was wrong. There's a whole spiel on defending the Sailor Moon character against people who don't like her odango (pet peeve: Japanese words should not be pluralized as though they were English words--1 odango+1 odango=2 odango). Now, I've heard people dislike her because of her immaturity, or because of her abundance of screentime, but never for her hairstyle. My theory: the author doesn't know what the word really means, and must think it means "honesty" or "numerous transformation and weapon forms" or something.

Media section follows. Some fan art which again is passable, if not particularly creative. A section for fan fiction is here, but none yet. Borrowing Sailor Mars's psychic ability, I foresee lots of self-insertion and god mode here. Also, ogg files are here, but broken links top things off. Most of the files are, but the broken links show lack of attention to detail.

The shock of shocks comes on the award page, where there are no awards yet! If there's anything I expect to be updated, it's this section. Top it off with a forum with an almost 5:1 ratio of boards to users, and you get a nice little dead end on the information superhighway. The One Good Thing of this site: it's short. For now.

Interesting splash page, but I'll go for it.

Badly done graphics. You can see where it's been extracted, which isn't a good sign. Legs sticking out from the frame at the bottom really looks lame, not to mention the ponytail bit at the right hand side. Considering it claims to be in 800x600 resolution, it's quite big enough for a 1024x768 layout. So in other words, the splash page lied.

No info. Not good really. Offering Sailor Stars episodes is bordering on illegal. It's also not great that they're Real Media files. That means the quality is crap, to put it mildly. Might want to include download links to the players to be able to play these files, as they're not the most commonly found these days.

Rather disappointed in this site, really. There's no info, and barely any multi-media files. Also, on the Site page, all the stuff is found in individual links. That's not the purpose of a site page. You have it all on one page. Especially since there's not much to any of it. It's almost pointless. Rather like this site, I'm afraid. There's nothing here to make it stand out as spectacular, unless you count it being a spectacular failure.
