ChibimoonSplash/Index Page:Ok..this splash page makes me want turn away from the site. People if you are going to use a splash page realize that this is your first impression of your site's entirety! I don't know what possessed this person to think that this was acceptable. The splash image is riddled with brushes the only thing holiday-ish about it is the scarce snowflakes in the background and Hama in her Santa outfit! The image is very bland with no color..this does not make me feel the holiday cheer. No background color! The coding is generated and the page isn't aligned properly at all. This either needs to be taken down all together or seriously fixed to look better. And when clicked the main page opens in a new window which I see as pointless as this isn't a pop-up site ( and how would we know as Topaz decided not to type in the resolution and types of coding her site used ). I would much rather have the main page take over this horrific splash page rather than keep it in its own window.

UranusMuch like a jury, we the reviewers don't discuss a site before we review it. We each do our own and submit them, without any influence from the others. But for The_World_Of_PGSM, we had to break this rule, because two of us couldn't figure out how to work the menu links. I'm going to say that again, so you understand its importance. Two people, who browse websites for an avoctation, couldn't figure out how to work the menu links. Because if the menu says, for example, "Home," you can't click on the word home, you have to click on the tiny (9 pixels by 8!) heart graphic next to the word. If the other two people hadn't figured this out, there would probably be no review, because the site would seem to not exist. What that illustrates is this: the layout of this site is not simply bad, it is problematic. Bad looking can be forgiven, but when certain pages don't include the menu or a back button, I'm more likely to say that that's the end of the visit for me. Also, on the home page, there's an annoying "PGSM World" piece of text that follows your cursor wherever it moves. Say it again, kids, just because you can use a piece of technology doesn't mean you should. I tried moving the cursor really fast to try to get it to make a swear word, but no such luck. Also, the whole site is a field of white, while the bulk of the text is in a color not dark enough to see. And if I may borrow a line from ksama487 over at our affiliate, Tiara Envy, Don't use the Comic Sans font. Ever. The irony is, with the unpleasant layout and for all the length of the menu, PGSM World is basically a graphics site. There are nice extensive galleries of all the actresses, plus covers of the DVDs and manga, as well as wallpapers and some other scanned items. But you wouldn't know that unless I told you, since all those parts are below "Story" and "Cast Profiles," which makes you think you're at a cookie-cutter fansite. And really, that's The_World's other big problem-it's not trying to look like something special, even though it might be. It looks like it's trying to conform to what the author thinks a site should be, instead of what she wants it to be. I'd say to re-design the site, junk the information, or shove it all on an "extras" page, and make the menu all about images. And make the links work. Time for One Good Thing, and this one gets its own paragraph because to me, it's a Very Good Thing. Those cast galleries are filled with tons of fan service. Especially Sawai Miyuu's and Komatsu Ayaka's. Plenty of bikinis and underwear. And, well. . . I'm a guy. I fully realize that this may turn away as many people as it will attract, and maybe those pictures should be sectioned apart, but they're there, and I like them. |

NeptuneOk splash page. Looks a bit crowded and plain but other then that it's ok. *clicks on image*Well it's a really subtle site. Nothing hard on the eyes and I don't have to highlight the text. *Loves the bear used for updates. ^_^* The menu is on the left and a tagboard is on the right. Hmm...I guess it's ok. Not too disctracting. ^^ I noticed that there's text following my pointer...sorry but that's annoying to me. Also, I have to click on the heart to go to the desired location. Erm...that makes it a bit hard but it's still cute. First problem is the profiles. It's not what you think tho-it's a good idea she has for the profiles it's just that the menu goes away. I had to click on the back button to get back to the menu. Same for the Otakon review. I'm now reading her review and looking at the images. Hehehehe...looks like Otakon was a success and her little girl is soooooooooooo cute. *Ahem* Back to the review. The rest of the menu is filled w/wallpapers, fanart, links, and the like. Overall Opinion-This is a detailed site with tons of info and images of various things with only a few minor problems (which I mentioned above). A good site to come back to and visit. ^^ |
