Uranus

The author of this site is only nine years old. Put in that context, one might say, "Well, this is a good site, considering." But when it becomes obvious that a page template is being used (or perhaps the author just felt like typing "Enter supporting content here" on the pages) then it seems like the benefit of the doubt may be misplaced. There are a lot of pages here, but none are too deep. So rather than just hit the high points, I'm going to talk a little about everything in a "quick hits" style. Ready? Helmets on? Let's go.

Main page. A big Venus graphic overlooks all pages. A tagboard is here, with black text on a red background. You know what I think about tagboards.

Webpage help. Not much here but some links to free providers and some information on HTML devices that should not be used if you're at the stage where you need a free provider.

Staff: One person. She's nine. This is her site.

Contests: only one, on fanfics. No guidelines on what to write or how the judging will go. No awards other than being labeled the winner. No real reason to enter.

Help needed: no duh.

Colored art from coloring books: Someone owns a scanner and wants to try it out. At least she stayed within the lines.

Site reviews: none up yet, just an offer to review sites. There is an option for a sweet review or an honest one. Thankfully, we have no such option.

Fan mail: Japanese doesn't have punctuation. English does. Use it. And that doesn't mean ten exclamation marks in a row.

Affiliates: These are places you can go that aren't here. A great page.

Updates: The layout has changed twice in the past two weeks. Well, as they say, if on the 45th try you don't succeed. . .

Past layouts: No pictures, only descriptions. There are only two here despite two changes of layout. Maybe the site started out without one.

Funny Pics for Voting: The pics are funny. The captions are not. You have to vote on the captions. One person has. It's still not funny.

Sailor Moon Game Tic-Tac-Toe: The computer always goes first. Sometimes it loses, sometimes not. Instead of X's and O's there's Luna and a squished picture of Sailor Moon. Annoying moving snow graphics begin here.

Rare episode guides: Should be guide-singular. It's a summary of Episode 42, which is not as rare as, say, 67.

Sailor Info: Senshi profiles, wai! Make it profile-singular. Just Moon. It mixes original and NA. Boo.

Chatroom: I actually enter. I'm the only one here. My surprise at this fact is palpably nonexistent. At least the chat window covers up the snow effect.

Links: See affiliates.

Free graphics: the author admits she's not so good at making them. This is honesty. The graphics themselves are all right, the text is wanting.

Lyrics: to The Power of Love (a good song) and the NA theme (an evil song)

FAQ: question-singular. The answer is wrong by the way. Direct linking is not right-clicking a picture and copying it. That is the exact opposite of direct linking.

My Awards: The title of this page has each word in a different stark and primary color. Very discordant. The declaration "I'm an award whore!" is woven wonderfully subtly into the page, however.

Fanfics: In no case are both the fanfic and the link to it intact.

Royal Gallery: some pictures of the senshi in princess garb. There's an anti-right-click script here, which Opera just laughs at.

Awards4u (sic): not very high standards. Even the "most hardest" award to win allows you to have a broken link in your site.

Credit: to a site we've reviewed. It's down. Again.

Contact me: with an e-mail address for people who don't like forms. Who doesn't like forms?

Adoptions: These are silly. The sprites aren't half bad though.

Quizzes: More fun with the color tag! The quizzes are offsite on a free provider of such things which takes forever to load, so I don't bother.

Fanfic rules: Why is this way down here and not, oh, by the fanfic part?

Why I made a Sailor Moon Site: features the sentence, "I love Tripod's webhosting." Take out the last t and you'd be more accurate.

Interviews: shades of text-based adventure games. Also Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It's not as funny as the latter but better written than the former.

Sailor Moon Never Says: A lot of spelling and punctuation errors, which is uncharacteristic for this site.

Story of Sailor Moon: where else would the introduction go but at the end?

One Good Thing (no, that's not on the site; this is my thing): There's potential here. The author grows up, watches the subs, she could be a good site author.

Neptune

Layout-What layout? There isn't anything here that can be considered a layout. Yes there are links but most of these can be combined into one. Also, everything seems to crowded so my suggestion is to clear it up by changing this site into a frame or iframe. Much easier to navigate and less congestion. Another problem with this is the bright background and text. It is hurting my eyes if I stare at it for 10 seconds or more. If you are wanting one solid color for a background, try dark colors or white with dark colored text (i.e. white background and black text). You can't go too wrong with those choices.

Content-Not much here to choose from. Some (badly done) graphics and some fanfics as well as "guides". More on that in a minute. Other content on here a games. The Tic Tac Toe is ok but not really exciting for continuous play. The quizzes don't work either so the webmistress needs to look into that if she really desires to keep this sort of content up. My suggestion is to combine these as they fall into the same catagory.
The gallary is something to laugh at, I'm sorry. You have on here not to take any of them, that is fine but these images can be found numerous other sites free for the taking. Are you the one who took the time to capture/scan these images? I highly doubt it. Your credit page doesn't list were you got your stuff from. I also suggest you put something in there-IF you didn't scan/make etc any of the gallary images.

Background/Text-Again, too bright for anyone's liking. Tone it down so you don't cause your viewers blindness. Also, stay away from moving or animated backgrounds (i.e snowflakes) as some browsers may crash and many don't like these types of backgrounds.
The images used throughout the layout are in need of work. They don't match anything you have going here. I'm not even sure why they are used. Try blending the images in for a better effect. But I'd also change the color of the background that way everything flows together.

Overall Opinion-Scrap the site and start over. Make an iframe or a frame type layout and stay away from bright colors. Also stay away from animations like the snowflakes as it does cause crashes or the site freezes. Combine your links into catagories. Most of the links fall into the same catagory and it will make navigating this site a lot easier if you took the time to do that.
You NEED to put where you got your images from as we know you did not scan these yourself. If you don't know where you got the images, have a submit form and somebody will help you. Well hopefully. ^_^

Pluto

Design and Integrity:
Well this is just sad. No design no unity of the site! It says Sailor Neptune's Silver Crystal Palace but Sailor Venus is the theme! If you can call it that! The site is on a Tripod free account which is a no no! Fanlistings and mini-sites maybe but a full blown site that could possibly rise in popularity is not for a free account unless you have multiple accounts which still wouldn't work no matter how you did it! Site was built with generated code and bad coding at that! Nothing is in order.

Content:
How many times must I tell you that less is more! Having a million menu options is not cool especially when they all go into on category. The site is mainly in uniform except for the similar page with snowflakes??? And when it comes right down to there is no real content except for the few that wouldn't make up for the lack of it.

Overall:
This site needs some serious work before it will ever get good graces from me! It might be best to start with something small and let it grow as this person is using quantity over quality! Complete reconstruction is needed for this site. New design, name, theme, and content...nuff said.

Saturn

Allllrighty..... this site already makes me want to close my browser. There is nothing like a huge image on top and then a run down the center of the page with an overly excessive link list on the left....

Did I mention the hot pink scrollbar?

You know I find it funny that this person is offering "Webpage Help" when their site looks like somebody vomited it up after a suicide attempt. The best part about the help is that this person lists some "free services" note that every one of them will have my SP2 screaming at me for all the popups and all the banner ads. Among these glorious services listed, there are "Popup and Ad Hell" known as Angelfire and Tripid, "We don't want to give popups but instead want to cover half of your site with our banner that is inside your page ads" otherwise known as Geocities, and of course my favorite "We used to be worth our salt sometime back in the mid 90's but ever since then we just subscribe you to fifty different lists that will in turn sell you to fifty other lists flooding your mailbox with our crap while our services are shit and are always down" otherwise known as Bravenet.

I'm skipping the Staff page and going to "Contests" as these are always fun links. I see the contest and that it is fanfiction month apparently, however there are no prizes listed, and very little criteria. Look, take it from us. We run a very good contest (at least I like to think so as do our entrants as they keep coming back), however this contest doesn't even come near good.

Colored Art will blind you, trust me. Site Reviews is just pathetic. Fan Mail is prolly fun but there are so many links that I am not visiting it. Affiliates I will hit later to find out who would want to affiliate with this site. Updates should be on the front page, not on a seperate page 10 links down on your list. Past Layouts.... I don't want to see them as I am sure they are just as bad as the current one. Funny Pics for Voting... man this site just wants to have it all don't they? Too bad the bandwidth will expire before I can view it all.

Free Graphics draws me so that I can laugh at them. Lets see what is behind this pretty little link. Uhm..... I think my two year old daughter did better then this on the iMac at CompUSA.... There are two images here each with the text of "Enter" on them.... Moving on...

Now that my excitement has been quashed I shall laugh. Lyrics has lyrics to ONE dub song. And now my screen is snowing... wait, that is the script that this person decided to run for some unknown reason.

Wow, why am I not surprised that this person is an award whore? There are more awards here then there has been actual content. That is just BEYOND sad people. Look at it this way. If you are going to apply for awards, have it at least meet the criteria of the award. This person applied for an "Elite Award".... meaning they really think highly f this site, yet there is nothing here. OUR site MIGHT qualify for their lowest award, and that is stretching it a bit, so how this person thought they could even qualify is beyond me.

Oh goody! Awards for me! And they are all the same calibur as the "Free Graphics". The Credits page is a laugh. Thanking PrincessSerenity.net. That site is a miserable attempt at a site and the only reason people go there is so that they can download ILLEGAL episodes. Really great site to credit dontcha think?

I am getting out of here now. This site is horrible and I don't want to be here anymore.

Advice. Learn what a REAL site is by hitting some of the better known GOOD sites and learn what really goes into a site before building one. Get a layout that is worth viewing, and then learn what a real host is. Tripod sucks.
