Is it better to know something about everything, or everything about something? Looking Through Your Eyes believes the latter, as it takes the PGSM relationship of Nephrite and Sailor Mercury and disects every little part of it. Is that a good thing? Well, let's dig deeper.

The layout is virtually identical to the Zoi/Venus fanlisting. Clean and simple. Packed into it however is a bunch more stuff, and just looking at the menu would tell you that. While it has unnecesary profiles of the two subjects, it moves from there into happy territory, with a full set of video clips of all the scenes with both of them in PGSM. That's the kind of thing that tells you that the site author is no dilletante, but cares about the site. Also here are translations of interviews with the actors. That's inside info you won't find most places.

The content section has all the usual suspects; walls, icons, banners, etc. And there's enough of each that it's worth coming back more than once to see. But most notable is the "rants" section. The ranter really cares about filling in the holes in the Nephrite-Ami relationship that the show left open. I like to see that, especially where there's really no other ship possibilities for either character. Yes, it is a nice thing to imagine a happy life for the two of them, and the rants here may convince you too.

So, in the inevitable comparison between this fanlisting and the Zoicite/Minako one, Looking Through Your Eyes wins hands down. If there's anything left unknown about the pairing, it'll probably come in a future update. This site is everything about something.

Main page is nicely done. Beautiful image of Ami and Nephrite as the main image. The background looks like an off white and the text is a sutle blue. A good choice as it's not hurting my eyes nor do I need to highlight the text. The layout is nicely done as things are not crowded together and everything seems to flow. A plus to Dounut!

Links: Up first is "Nephrite" under the "The Couple" menu. It's a VERY detailed description of the character. Nice! The description goes into how Nephrite was this proud Shitennou who served Queen Beryl to a human with no powers who now hates Beryl. I think this has to be the most detailed description on any character I've seen yet on ANY site! Kudos yet again!

Up next is a description for Ami. Another detailed description of Mizuno Ami and how she met "Nefurin" at the Crowne. Again Kudos for the detailed info!

"Their Moments" is up next. Let's see what Donut has in store for me. Hehehehehe...I think she's trying to prove her point that Nephrite and Ami are the ultimate couple in PGSM. *Snorts...this is some good stuff!* Thinks for a moment...you know I think Donut has something here!!!!

"Pubilic Opinon" is the last link under "The Couple". Again Donut is wanting the WORLD to know the "truth". LOL! This section contains information from interviews with Matsumoto about the relationship between his character and Ami. Again...interesting....

Next for the Links deals with the Fanlisting. Rules, Join, Members...etc...you're typical informational links about the fanlisting.

Now for "The Site" links. ^_^ Oooo fanart! I love me some fanart! These are very cute Nephrite/Ami pairings done by other fans. Kawaii!!!!!!

Fanfiction...well you all know me. Not gonna bother but I bet there are some good stories there.

Manipulations...o_0 this sounds intriguing! Ok so it's more graphic art, i.e. wallpapers. Speaking of which the next link is Wallpapers. Which is the same page as "Manipulations". ^_^

Music Videos! I'm not going to waste Donuts bandwidth by downloading all these videos. But I do know that these are all Nephrite/Ami contributes so any Neph/Ami fans will be happy.

The links go on to Icons, Siggies, Shipper Awards, Sprites, Rants, Site Info. Your typical site menus. Looks good to me.

Lastly there's the tagboard. Normally I don't like the tagboard on the main page (I learned the hard way on my site...@_@) but this doesn't bother me to say the least. The tagboard is out of the way and it doesn't bother me while looking at the rest of the site.

Overall Opinion: I love this fanlisting! It's a great Nephrite/Ami site and I give tons of Kudos to Donut for making this. You made a lot of fans happy!

Yay! Another site! Let’s see whats in this one…

“Looking through your eyes: The Nephrite + Mercury Fanlisting” Oh, boy. They got me with this one. I love Nefurin and Ami stuff. Lol. Ok, lets see. Ok, color is pleasing to my eyes. No horrible colors like…yellow. A few updates on the main page, and a tag board. The tag board is currently silent, and the last post says “Happy Birthday Lisa…” Well, yes, Happy Belated Birthday to you, Lisa. The navigation is on the left and its in rather good order.

The first is called “The couple.” It contains a few thumbnails of the characters and a fair good size description of their roles in PGSM. I decided to look at the “Their Moments” section, it seems that the creator took every interaction between the two and posted it. Even allows you to download a clip of the scene. The creator uses blue text to describe the scene and black text to give her opinion/translation of the event. I like the color change idea. Good move!

“The Site” section is a collection of submissions that the members created. I, personally, like the icons. Very nice. The wallpapers, image gallery, banners, and the sprites are very nice. The sprites are uber cute. I want one. Lmao.

The one thing I suggest is the same as the “Silver and Gold” site, and that’s to put recommend sites and your affiliate sites on the page, and just clearly mark the two. Its just adds more convenience to your already convenient site. ^_^

I really cant find anything wrong with this site. Great job! ^_^

Lemme dig right into this one today....

Alright Looking Through Your Eyes isn't bad really. Upon first inspection it isn't filled with colors that hurt the eyes or images that make you want to hang yourself, but is rather soft and subdued. It has a soft blue tone to the background with some darker blue accents here and there, which reminds me of Ami and Nephrite. Some might say "how does it remind you of Nephrite?!", well, look at his eye color sometime and you will understand ^_^;

There are a couple of things on the opening page of this site that bugs me a bit though and it is this line "Hello, everyone, and welcome to "Looking Through Your Eyes," my little tribute to the great pairing of the characters Nephrite and Ami (Sailor Mercury) from the live-action Japanese series, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon." and that the tagboard is currently not working. However as the tagboard is not their own script I can't fault them for it. I am curious however what this trend is with every frickin site having a tagboard lately....

There is one thing that I like about this site immediately and that is that after viewing the source code (come on guys you know I am going to do it with every site ^_^) I find that it "appears" that the author has coded this site on their own. A rare thing I am noticing these days and I rather commend them from it. I only say "appears" because of my history of dealing with people who took other's codes and changed them to fit their own desires. No offense is meant to the author of this page with the statement of "appears". I just have to word myself kindly.

Back to the page.

The category "The Couple" has some information in a style that I rather like. Paragraphs are wonderful people, especially if they are implemented in this way. Plus the diary transcripts are fun to read. (No I won't tell you about them, you will need to view this beautiful page to see them.)

"The Fanlisting" column is fairly straight forward. It is all the information on the fanlisting and how to join it and such.

"The Site" column is always interesting as everybody does it differently, but I am a bit disappointed with this one. Mainly because of all the categories on here, it is the largest.

I find that some of this stuff should probably have been put into a different category for further content. Also, I understand that not everybody is a photoshop genius (I know I'm not), but when choosing what goes up on a site, quality is much preferred over quantity. "The Site" category has two links that go to the same page, and they are literally right after each other in the column of links. I would definately eliminate one of them. There is no need for "Manipulations" and "Wallpapers" as seperate links if they lead to the same place. Also, as I said, not everybody is a genius with graphics, but I would prefer to see some better done walls in here as the ones that are there really aren't that good. In fact I didn't like any of them, but maybe I am overly critical.

I didn't watch any of the Music Videos for time reasons, but I did view the icons and I would suggest that for the sake of people with eye problems and such that you put blinky icons behind a seperate link on the icons page. It was hard for me to view this page without getting a bit of motion sickness. (For future reference to any other web authors, this is always a good idea.)

The signature banners are nicely done. I really enjoyed them. I just wish that some of the artists for the signatures could do the wallpapers and make the walls look a bit better (alright alright! I will stop harping on the wallpapers!).

The Shipper Award is a cute idea and I like it. The sprites are the same sprites that I see everywhere (done by Kristian a friend of mine) and frankly I must say I am VERY glad to see them credited for a change. There are WAY too many people who don't credit Kristian's sprites and it drives me nuts, so major props to this web author for crediting a wonderful site. A rants page that confuses me, but oh well.

The only thing that really bothers me is that after ALL OF THIS there is the "Site Info". I feel that the column labeled "The Site" should have contained this and the other things should have been in a category of its own rather then in "The Site"

Upon viewing the "Site Info" I find affiliates (typical of a fanlisting), some Layout information, a Previous Layout (I wish I could actually see what it looked like), and a Title category.

All and all this site is decent. It made its way into the good column, but I will admit that it just barely made it. Mainly because this site needs a bit of work on organization. I will state that one of the biggest reasons that it made it into "The Good" is because it actually has a bit of content. A lot of fanlistings don't have this and I am quite impressed with the amount of content that this one has in comparison to others that I have seen.

Good Job.
