Links & Affiliation

Do all the links work? Are affiliations clearly stated? Are self-promotion banners, buttons, and links easily visible?

Eudial

Juuban District...i remember seeing this site when i was first curious bout PGSM. huh...I was wondering when this was gonna show up.

Ok, self promotion is found in the links section. As this person only has one link to me banner, I suppose this could be considered fine.

Links that do not work/send me to a search page:

  • Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Media Page
  • Forever Senshi
  • DIES GAUDII
  • Devoted to Digimon

Four sites...A little disheartening. See, some believe that im a perfectionist, and their correct. If the link doesnt work, then dont put it up. You should also keep up with your site to make sure this stuff works.

Checking through the actual site, all of the links seem to work properly exist for the TV-Nihon PGSM fansub page.

Well, this site isnt...too bad, i guess. You gotta fix those broken links otherwise you're gonna see a very unhappy Eudial.

You get a 5/10.

Tip: Fix broken links, get more self-promotion, and please UPDATE more.

Layout & Design

Is the layout intuitive and easy to navigate? Is it compatible across all browsers and resolution? Is it aesthetically pleasing?

Mimette

Juuban District. I have been here before. The layout is simple. You have a white background with some bluish grey text and lines used in the header image. The header image is nothing that is horribly done, but just simply a small picture of Sailor Moon (PGSM version) and then the title of the site with it. It works really well, and I like the simplicity.

The navigation on this site is on the left and is pretty standard. All the information and content is down the middle, but I am a bit surprised that it is in plain black text. However this does not detract from the site. It works quite well and makes things easy to read. All links on this site are bhe blue that I expect and any headings for a different section are in the same blue that is used for the main image.

Other than that, there isn't anything else to say about the layout of this page. It is simple, it is easily viewed and navigated and it works. Simplicity at its best.

Credits & Site Information

Are all sources visibly and accurately creditied? Is there plenty of information about the webmaster and the site?

Tellu

The page is very simplistically designed, but not so overly simplistic that it looks like the site is from the early '90s. The big annoying geocities ad on the side is distracting, but that's nothing a good webhost couldn't solve.

I'm looking through the site, and aside from a link page with extensive links about PGSM, where to get PGSM, where to get PGSM related stuff, and articles, etc., there is actually no credits page. I am left to believe that the author of the website has created all graphics for the site by himself, and that the articles are all written by him. The consistency in quality of graphics and information makes this believeable, so I'm done with that.

Guess there's not much else for me to review =( The site is pretty good for information, and it references some impressive sites like Dies Gaudii and Shingetsu. This site seems to know what it's talking about with PGSM info and the like. The name "Obsessive Touga Fan" sounds oddly familiar...hmm...

That's that. Good site, but nothing in the 'credits' department. Oh well.

Written Content

Is there lots of written information? Are all profiles, back story, and other textual content accurate? Does the site offer fanfiction or other miscellaneous written content?

Viluy

The site is almost a year out of date, and many of the episode summaries are unfinished. The last update on the home page is June of 2004.

Intro -Fairly basic, expecting the visitor to not to know much about the series. Entertainingly written. It does what it says it does - introduces the series to newcomers and diehard fans alike. Only a few issues with words like 'fillerish' which isn't a proper word (yep, I'm the spelling/grammar witch!) but so far so good.

Episode summaries - Trying to do something different, the opening page says that rather than doing the same old, same old, the webmaster wants to try something different. Well, let's see if it works...

Actually, this isn't too bad. The summary is in point form, rather than a write-up, which is good for skimming the basics and for general information. A list of characters introduced, as well as new attacks and items is included, also in point form, but linked to other pages, which describe the characters, the attacks and the items. The attack list goes to a comparison page, comparing the attack used to ones in the manga and anime. The items list also goes to pages with comparisons and episode appearance.

Characters - The usual character stats, but in a slightly different presentation. The transformations, attacks and items are also included here. The grammar, spelling and presentation on each of these is very well done, in an easy-to-read yet entertaining format.

How to get it - The site is a bit outdated, in that the series has been over for around 6 months now, although there have been specials out for a few months now as well. Explanations of where to get it, as well as the software needed (BitTorrent, usually) is available here for both the raw (untitled) and subtitled episodes. There is also a link to another episode which was subtitled as an un-funny (in the webmaster's opinion) joke, as well as links to the various retailers selling PGSM merchandise.

Links - The standard link list with explanations of various websites.

Visual Content

What kind of visual content is offered? Is it efficiently organized and intuitively accessible? Are all visual media offered legally?

Cyprine

Juuban District doesn't offer much by way of visual media -- no galleries, no wallpapers or banners, even the 'Episodes' link doesn't actually contain episodes, but write-ups for the episodes. It's pretty much all fodder for Viluy.

However, the site does get a memorable note from Lil' Cyprine -- all of the written content is well supplemented with great images that seem to have been captured from PGSM episodes by the webmaster himself, given the common quality of the images. Big bonus for hosting those hard to find images of items and attacks.
