UranusNow, I'll be the first to say that you can do whatever you want with your site. But I have to admit having a certain questioning attitude toward you when the site is headed up by a penciled piece of Sailor Cosmos fanart with Escher-esque hair. The rest of the layout is less startling, although there's one minor bit of annoyance. The left-hand menu links look like normal text links, but they are in fact buttons. This site's information is from the Sailor Starts manga exclusively, which is a bit too thin of a niche. There are senshi profiles, but none of the planetary senshi are covered. The ones who are get a one-paragraph write-up at best. There's a whole series of FAQs, only they're not frequently asked questions, they're questions that were asked once by people who e-mailed the author. That's not the purpose of that. Next comes a dumb rumors page, and Crystal Tokyo, we have a problem, because there's only one original page archiving dumb rumors, and this isn't it. The image gallery for this site is extensive, but it uses the technique of cropping the images to produce thumbnails instead of shrinking. There are a few manga scans, but not such that you could use to read it and get the story. And there's a fanart section, but the quality, both from the author and the guests, is commensurate with the image on the home page, so judge from that whether you want to see it. The multimedia section is the brightest star on the site, as there's a rotation of Sailor Stars episodes to download, and some permanent video clips. Unfortunately the former is in .rm format and the latter are in .mov, so you can have fun deciding which is worse. Full-quality mp3s are available, however. Some have moral quandaries about this sort of thing, but I'm of the "information wants to be free" school. An interactive section finishes things up, and there's a lot of depth to it. An ask the senshi page, some Javascript tomfoolery, and some general weirdness are here to help waste your time. So I'm torn on this page. I want to give some benefit of the doubt, because a lot of work has gone into this site, but there's not a lot of return for it. Maybe the best thing this site could do would be to partner up with someone else just to give it a different flavor. There's a lot of will, but not as much talent or experience. Because of that, I hope this site can grow to something good in the future, but it's just not there yet. |

NeptuneWell the was wierd. The site loaded-well took forever and then it gave me an error page: "Invalid syntax error". What?! Uh....*hits refresh button....* Ok so I hit the refresh button and the site came back. However, I had to click on the stop button so that the page stops loading. Note to author-you may want to look into that little problem!Layout-Somewhat original with the drawing then on the left is the chibi form of Cosmos. The buttons on the left, aka, menu, don't look like they work unless you actually click on them. I guess that is ok. Well when clicking on a link the right image changes. Wouldn't be a problem but Cosmos (?) head is cut off at the neck. She should have some feathering done. Content-Oh boy! Um why does this look familiar? The author has a "Dumb Rumors" page. I know that that information is found on "The Sailor Senshi Page" so I'm gonna check to see something. BRB...ah man...I can't load SSP right now. But these rumors look the same to me. Word for word but I can't conclude that until I can get proof. I'm in the multimedia now and well, the author is offering the Stars episodes. I just think that that shouldn't be done but it's my opinion. Note that Toei IS releasing R2 DVDs at the end of the year. Background-too pink and a little choppy! The author should redo the main background color as it isn't doing the site ANY justice. Overall Opinion-The author does have some stuff worth viewing but nothing is original. I am really piffed that the author has a "Dumb Rumor" page and the wording is familiar to me. Those who've read the "Dumb Rumors" on SSP should know. I suggest the author rethink that. Even rewording things is wrong. >.> The author should also work on the images used in the layout. Each time a link is clicked, the right side imaged is choppy and cut off at a certain point. Makes one feel bad for the character. Get some originality to the site and things should be better. |

ChibimoonHmm. At least, the menu is easy to see and identify, which is always great when you have a site with "lots of contents".The background tile doesn't do good to the site though. Nor does the scrollbar, cause there's too much pink for my taste (testing site in IE just for the sake of it). The fanart idea for the title banner seems good. Also, please please reconsider your colors if you're going to use a transparent Cosmos gif in your design, especially this one. Pink and her don't match... blue, maybe, but surely not pink. Or not this background/shade/scrollbar you have. And please please please please use quality images when making graphics. Otherwise it looks like a crappy copied/pasted image. - Content/Layout First off, there seems to have been a controversy about the hosted episodes, as there was a time when this person was offering ALL of them. Now, this person says, in her guestbook, that she will not host English clips cause her site is a "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Stars" site. Eeek... okay. Let's check that ? Okay. Link by link. Recurrent problem with some links : I click, it doesn't work. I reload and *pops out GBA SP and Pokemon Sapphire while waiting for page to load* nothing. I try taking off the question mark from the link to check if that's a mistake. Doesn't work. I hit "back". Can't see the site! I retype the adress, it works, I click on the section link, it now works. Okay, let's see some categories. I won't comment on the loading problem all over, I think this will be a pattern, and copy/paste would be no use. Ahem. *bangs head against wall* Some of the links : Character Profiles - Something really odd: translation are said to come from said place, something else from another but then "all info from my manga" . Riiiiiiight. If ALL info is from your manga, you didn't need to take anything from anyone else, right ? ... Seems pretty weird to me. And even if this is not stolen content, you don't need to say "All translations of dialogue are from this site. Translation IS information, stat items IS information, common stats IS information, so if it comes all from your manga, fine, but if you say in the same paragraph it comes from the manga AND somewhere else, there has to be something wrong somewhere. FAQ - First off, if you're going to have a FAQ about something, don't split it in too many categories. And also, don't mix the SITE Faq with the ANIME/MANGA Faq. These ain't the same. The Site FAQ should be in the "Sitey" section, or something to that extent. Dumb rumors - Some of them are eerily similar to those found on the Sailor Senshi Page. I won't comment on that much more since my fellow reviewing colleagues will have more to say on that topic I'm sure, but still, I don't see a link to them ? Site reviews - Aha! Let's see! Those rules are WTF. Sweet or honest option ? Huh ? What's that ? I thought constructive comments were the common rules, not some sugar coating option that'll make the reviewee better u_u . And this is done just to avoid flames... Dears, chances are, if you can't handle a few flames, you can't handle a whole website about Sailor Moon. Also, I don't see why the review would not be published, as if all sites chose that, there would be no need for a review section anyway. Big U_U . Final words - If I had any advice to give ? 1) Either get rid of this pink, or make the scrollbar a sweeter pink and change the background image because it makes it all look really weird. 2) Use high quality images to make your banners. It looks more "professional" that way. 3) Try to group some of your sections. There are too many links everywhere, and if you feel like you can't "group" stuff, at least classify them once we go past the menu links, because a whole bunch of links doesn't make a decent "section". Overall feeling about the site: I don't know what I'm supposed to feel, actually. Beginner's site ? Confirmed "unprofessional" site ? Hmm... I'll stay undecided but one thing is sure, I didn't feel completely at ease while browsing the site! |

Saturnmmmmm Celexa's Sailor Cosmos Shrine....Well I gotta admit that I am a bit disturbed. You see, Celexa is the name of an anti-depressant... I know this because years ago, I was on it. Why anybody would use this for the name of a site, well that is disturbing in its own right. Aside from that, the layout for this page REALLY needs some work. Lemme explain why... You have this badly done pink background to the page. It looks like somebody tried to be artistic, and as much as it tiles well, the color is nauseating... and I LOVE pink! The scrollbar was obvioulsy colored to match this background as well, and I have seen bubblegum pink, but this color is reminiscent of the pink on Cindra's page, and that makes me want to throw up. The tables for this page are a salmon pink with what looks like a purplish colored border... this doesn't match the rest of the pink... AT ALL. The buttons for navigation are a nauseating light pink with the same purplish border... meaning that they clash with the table color. Then there is the SD image of Sailor Cosmos. Whereas I have seen this image used WELL in design, it is not here. It is grainy as if it was shrunk disproportionately and the blue of the character doesn't work well with the pink of the site. Then on the right we have some fanart image that isn't done very well, has grayish black hair, and the hair is cut off at the bottom yet that is nothing that it is cut off by! Just empy space as if the image was never finished. Onto content as the layout is horrible and I shouldn't harp on it too much... The "Information" section is pretty straight forward... ok, so that is stretching it a bit. There is a grainy Cosmos head that popped up on the right which for some reason really bothers me, but oh well. The FAQ section on this site isn't an FAQ at all, and I am wondering why it is here. The "Dumb Rumors" section is the one that bothers me. Not only is the name jacked from "The Sailor Senshi Page", but some of the quotes are as well. As example. The bolded text is from "The Sailor Senshi Page", followed by the italic text which is from this page. Sailor Cosmos does not really exist, she's just a fanfic character with a lot of popularity. No, that's Sailor Orion. Get your senshi straight. Sailor Cosmos does not really exist, she's just a fanfic character with a lot of popularity. That's why Naoko wrote about her and she's in the artbooks. Because she's simply a fan character. Now Sailor Sun, there's a real Sailor Senshi there! You know, I know that it is common to see the same rumors, but this is a bit too coincidental, but if you need more proof that it was jacked, please read the following dumb rumor that also just happen to be on BOTH pages again. ChibiChibi is the Star Seed of Sailor Cosmos. Okieee. ChibiChibi is the Star Seed of Sailor Cosmos. Yeah...I'm my own Star Seed too... If these don't convince you that this person grabbed them.... well then I don't know what to tell you. Knowing me as well as you all do, you know that I HATE people who can't come up with original content for a website. What is the point of owning a website if you aren't original? The "Images" section leaves a lot to be desired.... The "Multimedia" section is nothing that I wouldn't expect to see on this very unoriginal site, but I gotta state this.... the "Desktop Wallpapers" section is worth a good laugh if you want to peruse it. These are not wallpapers so much as they are attempts at complete and utter crap. The majority of this site is full of content that can be found on much better pages. There is pretty much NO credit given as to where most of this came from, and you aren't going to convince me that you bought all of this to showcase it as if that were the case there wouldn't be SELECT mp3 tracks from whatever album. You would have all of it because you would own it. The awards page really makes me want to get in on the bribe money. However you can see that most of the awards are given from sites that have no REAL standing in the community anyway. Meaning that they were given most likely by people that don't know a lick of site design themselves and think that as long as it is on the interweb that it is free for the taking.... Now I shall go direct link every one of their galleries and every file on their page to show them a lesson.... ok I WISH I could get away with that, but I wouldn't do that as I hat those that do that to others. I am signing the guestbook (If I can find one) and getting the hell outta this mess. Advice. Learn what an original website is. Learn that this color of pink shouldn't be used on a site, and learn what it means to give credit where it is due. Oh yeah, the biggest one... LEARN NOT TO FUCKING STEAL! |
