Pluto“An Eternal Moonlight.” The front page has four main sections; information, entertainment, gallery of moonlight, and roll call. The page shows a ‘youma of the day’ and a few small links such as affiliates, guestbook, email, etc. In “information,” its separates into multiple links that give a brief history about the seasons of SM, the name meanings of the main characters as well as the origin of the villians’ names. (I always wondered where they came up with some of those names) Now, I know. Thank ya. :-D I, now, know the chemical formulas to all the enemies. Lmao. Maybe I’ll make some villains in chemistry lab tomorrow. ^^ Ok, moving on, it also gives information about the planets, star signs, gods, and senshi colors. Extremely informative. In the entertainment section, I went to the “love/hate” part first. Regrettably, the images are not working so its tough for me to determine who the author is talking about. Ok, next…”create ur own adventure.” ::clicks:: ooooooo boy ::quickly clicks out:: I didn’t see that. The multimedia sections is pretty good; lots of stuff to choose from. ^^ OOOO, a quiz!! ::takes it:: I got 8/10, but I need 9/10 to enter….NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! But, there are lots of quizzes so I may be able to redeem myself. ::takes them all:: ….Ok, next topic. ::grumble:: Ok, moving on, Im @ “gallery of moonlight.” There are 2817 images…..wow. Generally nice, however, the names are kinda cramped up. Not too bad though And finally, “roll call.” Its bios of majority of the characters However, out of 11 groups, only 3 are complete. The bios that are complete are very informative, and are well organized. Ok, all and all, I think this site has its ups and its downs. If the author of this site fixes some stuff, and updates the rest of it, this can be a great site. I’ll rate it a 6/10. |

SaturnAlrighty. I am glad for a change to see another site that doesn't blind me. There is also a youma as the main character on the design which is a bit refreshing as opposed to your usual main characters from a series. What is even better is that this person has used the tails of the youma for their links. I really like that as it shows originality. Unfortunately I had to reload the page as two images in the layout were broken. And that is as far as the "Pretty" layout goes. Information opened a new layout with Moon on the side and the iframe badly positioned. I am guessing it was supposed to be positioned in the square here, but it isn't. In fact it is positioned about an inch too far to the right. This layout is similar to what is on the "Introduction" page, except it is a new image and new colors. Whereas there is some DECENT information here, there is a lot that is flawed. Mostly by spelling errors. Also the argument about "Serenity vs. Selenity" is not valid as Naoko actually has stated it is "Serenity". The "Entertainment" section is a bit annoying. The "Multimedia" is a joke. Everything here are avi files and such that are grabbed from other sites. Saying that you "found" them at a site doesn't mean that you have a right to redistribute them on your site. Most of the rest of the Entertainment is just annoying or something that can be found on much better sites, so I am going to hit the back button on my browser and go somewhere else. The gallery makes me sick because of this line. Images are free for you to use on your websites or collections, they have been scanned, screen captured, or found from various sources for you to enjoy. Who gives this person the right to take images from some other site and then redistribute them with the claus that whoever wants to use them for whatever can?! Moving on. Roll call is a very pointless link. Advice. Get a uniform layout. I have experience at least 5 different ones on this site thus far. Give credit for the things that you have STOLEN as finding something and just taking it is stealing and pisses me off to no end. (Ask De'Angelo about how I feel about that) Also don't lie to people. The "Best sites for information" are NOT the best sites for information. That is a personal opinion. I know I am not going to go to a free service site such as a Freewebs site for information that is stolen from somewhere else. I would much rather go somewhere like the Oracle that actually has their information straight. Learn what it means to code a site. In this day and age of coding there is no reason to have your colors specified by words as opposed to hex code. Even worse is this site was designed in Photoshop which is evident by the "Image Ready Slices" insert at the bottom. That being the case, there is NO reason for there not to be hex code there as opposed to "Maroon" or "Navy". Learn to code person because your layouts have been tested in more then one browser and they don't work well on either one. |

UranusThe splash page here is certainly different, being a mid-motion shot from a low-angle perspective of an unmemorable S-era monster of the day. This level of creativity is spread throughout the site. Head first to the information section, and you'll see that there's no base information or dollbox stats. Instead, there is a wealth of behind-the-scenes tidbits such as the senshi's relationship with their Zodiac signs, planets, and colors. Some of it is opinion-based, some of it is pure fact, all of it is stuff you should know. The entertainment part of the site is next, going left to right (my American ethnocentrism, baka Uranus, baka!), and I was able to spend a good hour here just enjoying myself without writing for the review. So much of the pages here are both amusing and thought provoking. There are a few links lost, and the whole fan fiction section is gone, but no big loss, says I. In particular, I liked the "make your own polls" section, which goes way beyond "Who's your favorite?" Also, the author's unanswered questions about the show and reasons for loving and hating each of the senshi are very illuminating, even if the first is a bit too manga-centric and the second is just so wrong from my perspective. But move on we must, though I recommend taking your sweet time over each of these sections. The image gallery is next, and its very deep. As a rule of thumb, any gallery that has color pictures of Sailor Lethe and Sailor The One Who Hangs Out With Sailor Lethe is sufficiently stocked. My lone complaint is that pictures of Ail and Ann are on a page labeled "Other Villains" while everyone else gets their own page. What is this, Gilligan's Island? Are they supposed to be "and the rest"? I sense that manga favoring rearing its head again. But I give a mulligan on that because here's the awesome thing. The gallery works by Javascript pop-ups, just like our site here. But if you don't like that, there's a link to a page with the pages linked directly. That's such a brilliant catering to the fans' desires that one wonders why it isn't done more. Unfortunately, the site ends not with a bang, but with a whimper. A half-finished, half-baked page of senshi profiles gets equal weight with the brilliance through which I have come? Shameful! There are brief write-ups on what's done, but the passion isn't there. Folks, it's real simple: you don't need these. Everyone does it, but that's more of a reason for the good people to avoid doing them. It's effort, but the return toward a site's greatness just isn't worth it. I'd like to finish with the site stuff, but the important links like the site FAQ are broken. I'd like to see the author come back and fix that, and add on a lot more to this site. In any case, do go enjoy what's here. |
