Michiru Tells her Tale

Mimette here! I told you all that I would be open to testimonials if you had any and the former seamstress that Bunny played me off of has decided to tell her story personally. This is indeed the same person that Bunny claimed tried to scam her out of the Princess Serenity dress to me and then badmouthed all those months with me believing it. Even moreso, this lovely lady has provided me with a screencap of her pricing list. You will be able to view this below. I do hope you enjoy this testimonial since this person came forward on their own and was willing to share it. I thank them for telling their story and they are more than welcome here at the PockyBox any time.

I've known Jamie for roughly seven years now, seeing her in both the good and bad. However, last year in September I showed her pictures of a costume I had made and at once she was interested. She wanted to know why I had made it, and then I introduced her to cosplay. We formed Moonie Dreams, gathered people, and it started to grow rather well. Things didn't start going south until she commissioned me for the Princess Serenity dress, which I now realize was a mistake.

I had originally quoted her at 175$, in a picture I have sent off to be posted somewhere here, and at once she started to add things to it. When I would say that it would be more if she kept doing that, she said that Setsuna Kou included all of that. Hence, I found out who SK was since I had never heard of her before. Then Jamie wanted certain things done in particular ways and just the day after she started asking if I had bought the materials yet and started. I informed her then that I couldn't start anything till she sent me part of the money, and she ended up sending 45$, twenty of it being in cash. I bought the base items with that, as well as going out of pocket to cover it. She sent me another check of 90$ about two months later so I could continue with my progress of the dress. I realized throughout these days how horrible a decision I had made to commission anything with her. Day in and day out I was asked about progress. Constantly it was "hows my dress", even when I was going through stressful times requiring my full attention. She nagged me day in and day out, until finally I told her that she still owed me the rest of the 175$. By this time we were no longer on speaking terms and had pulled out of the cosplay group, and the moment I mentioned the remaining balance the harrassment started. People I didn't know started to IM me with "how could you be so mean and rob her of her money"...

On each occassion I had to bring up that there was a balance owed, and that I would not send her the dress until I was paid the remainder. It was bad enough I had gone out of my own pocket for it, and I wasn't going to budge. -Then- Jamie mentioned that she had a commissioner who would finish it for her, if I sent her the unfinished product AND her 135$. That's right, she wanted a refund -and- the dress. When I told her no things only got worse. She began to drag mutal friends into it, forcing them to chose sides, and I ended up losing a very good friend for a period of time because of all the crap.

Now it's been since January since I last spoke to her and I'm still finding myself being talked about, smeared around, and belittled. Jamie likes to play the "I paid her in full" card when it comes to me and that is simply not the case. I have screenshot proof that 175$ was the price I listed. 135$ was never even remotely close, and she even tried to convince Luna to pay the remainder balance which I at once turned down.

Needless to say, in the months this has happened I have but once brought it up, but I seem to be her favorite pasttime rant and it's really sick. I highly recommend to watch your dealings if you do happen to commission something for her.

Last statement by your Mimette here. As you can see here, Bunny pulled the Setsuna Kou tactic on Ms. Michi as well. If Bunny knows SO much about Setsuna Kou, why does Setsuna Kou have no idea who Bunny is? And why isn't Bunny shopping there if she seems to be able to quote her work from start to finish? Maybe she has and we all just don't know it? Either way, maybe she SHOULD since she seems to admire the work so much to constantly quote it, and when she is done, leave all of us other costumers alone. It is people like her that make us all sick in the first place and then we do things like stop taking commissions. But Bunny also has another option. The Chinese market on ebay has just swallowed most other SM costume makers on there, so maybe she should start shopping there.... but there is the downside that they do NOT take payment plans like we did. However in the future I think that because of things like this more and more commissioners will start working with a contract like I do. I truly feel for those that don't as they are setting themselves up for things like this. Take care and be well our loyal viewers. And lets hope that this woman doesn't get away with this any further.
