Mission Statement

Many webmasters have accused the SMPB of being hateful, hurtful and unnecessarily cruel in our reviews. We vocally object to this characterization -- as a team, we did not come together to review other Sailor Moon sites out of some sadistic urge to make other hard-working webmasters suffer. As established viewers and maintainers of Sailor Moon sites, our intention is to offer honest and helpful critiques of all manner of Sailor Moon sites, in an effort to both give viewers an index of Sailor Moon site quality and to help webmasters acknowledge and improve the problems in their sites.

Review sites are a dime a dozen, but few are willing to forgo sugar-coating the truth for the sake of giving constructive criticism. We firmly believe that reviews are useless unless they're willing to tell you where your site needs help.

With that in mind, we hope you will enjoy these reviews, both as a source of entertainment and as a resource for improved web design and maintenance within the world of Sailor Moon fandom that we all know and love.

Why did you switch from your old format? I liked it back when every reviewer reviewed the entire site.

In the spirit of practicing what we preach, the SMPB staff decided, collectively, to take into consideration the plethora of constructive criticism (or downright hateful criticism) that we frequently receive. During our rebirth and restructuring, we decided to implement a new review system in order to accomodate the feedback of many of our readers.

One criticism that we received was that, in the old system, reviewers tended to repeat themselves over and over again. To cut down on that, we decided as a team to focus on certain aspects of the site in order to give webmasters more helpful and well-rounded reviews and assure that no aspect of the site was left uncommented on.

While the way we have divided the site reviews up may seem unfamiliar or even unwieldy, this was the best way we could come up with to divide anything a site may offer between five members or a reviewing staff. It is our hope that with this new format, our reviews will achieve the goal of being more well-rounded.

Your site isn't displaying properly

The site's current layout was designed by Cyprine. We have tried time and time again to make this site browser compliant with everything in the world, but it just isn't happening as some browsers are STILL not with the program and don't accept certain code for whatever reason. There has been noted a slight issue with Opera when viewing this site. I do not use Opera however, so I don't know why it isn't accepting it other then the fact that Opera seems to have some issues with some code. I apologize if the site doesn't display properly for you, but we try to function for the masses, and if you check, the code IS correct.

Who are we?

We are a group that got fed up with seeing so many good and bad Sailor Moon sites and decided to review them and let the world know the best and the worst of the current Sailor Moon web.

If you have a site that you want reviewed (be it yours or somebody else's), feel free to submit it for review.

What do we do?

We review websites! We take the sites that you submit, pick them apart and either proclaim them as great sites, or we tell you why they are so god awful that you should never visit them unless you want your brain to shrivel up and rot, or you just like punishment.

Why do we do this?

There was once a site run by the infamous Amazoness Quartet. They gave us many laughs and squeals of delight throughout the years. We respected them very much, but they are no longer reviewing sites, and this is our way of reviving what they started and our way of giving a bit of a tribute to them.

Their site is still there, but the reviews have stopped and not a day goes by that somebody doesn't say "I wish AQ was around to tear that site apart", so we figured why not give people a new site to submit all those bad sites that need ridiculing. Hense this site was born

The AQ was rather gentle in some of their reviews, but we can get rather nasty, so before submitting a site, or reading a review, know that whereas they respected all sites to an extent, we will try, but we make no promises ^_^;

For those of you that don't know what we are talking about when we say AQ or Amazoness Quartet, you can view they site that is still up but dorment located here.

We respected them enough to NOT call ourselves the AQ, but rather we are the Witches 5... well kinda... We are the Witches armed with Pocky Sticks ^_^;

Can I help?

We are bound to get a question like this at one time or another, so it is being addressed here as to get the word out.

As it stands, the reviewing positions are filled, however from time to time, we will have a guest reviewer. If you would like to be a guest reviewer, then drop us a line via the "Submit" link. And keep in mind that we will always need sites to review, so send them in! Give us something to keep this site alive for!

Why Pocky?

Pocky is a very well known thing in the anime world and among anime fans everywhere. This being the case... why NOT Pocky?

It didn't hurt that Mimette already owned the domain and is hosting this site. Because of this, it only seemed natural to call this "The Sailor Moon Pocky Box". It is a part of the website that will someday be "My Pocky Box", so why not have more personalized Pocky?

You reviewed my site! I want it taken down!

Sorry, we won't take down a single review that we do. This site opperates on the opinions of the review team, not the liking of the web authors. If you don't like your review, then the only advice I have for you is to suck it up, and take the things that we say as constructive criticism to make your site better. We will NOT remove a review just because you didn't like it and we are not required to by any laws as we do not break any in posting our OPINIONS of a site.

You were so mean in your review of my site, why aren't you nicer?!

If we sugar coated everything in reviews, then you wouldn't take the hint to fix your site. Plus there would be no use for EVER telling somebody that their site is awful if it was sugar coated. Grow a spine and understand that we are saying it how we see it. If you can't handle it, then learn to fix it.

Oh my god, my site has been dormant for so long, you need to get a life

For it being dormant you certainly found a way to our site meaning that you most likely read it in your guestbook. That means that whereas the site is dormant, you are not. As for us getting a life... well I can't count how many people could state that about us, but quite frankly we all HAVE lives and this is our way of showing you how to make your site better, not a way to nitpick at you. That is what the drama column is for... sheesh....
